SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
All electrical work should be performed by a licensed electrician.
WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Disconnect power before working on pump, motor, pressure
switch or wiring.
CAUTION: Motors run hot. Do not touch an operating motor. Before handling the pump, disconnect power
and allow the motor to cool down for 20 minutes.
Read and follow all safety instructions on the pump label and in the owner’s manual for your pump.
Problem 1: Pump won’t run. Pump hums but won’t run
Possible Causes
Corrective Action
1. Loose, corroded or reversed wire
connections.
1. Tighten, clean or reconnect if necessary.
2. Discharged battery.
2. Charge battery.
3. Defective battery.
3. Replace battery.
4. Blown fuse.
4. Replace with 20 amp fuse.
5. Float switch is stuck.
5. Position float so it moves freely.
6. Battery is discharged below 10 volts.
6. Fully charge battery.
Problem 2: Pump cycles too often
Possible Causes
Corrective Action
1. Float switch positioned improperly.
1. Reposition float switch.
2. Defective or missing check valve.
2. Install or replace check valve.
