To change the password, enter the current password at ᬅ in Figure 53. If no password has yet been set,
the default value is 0.

New password sets the new password in the hexadecimal format for the selected tag

sets the new password to deactivate the selected tag

selected tag
14.9.7 Lock
The EPC Gen2 standard provides security mechanisms for the tag data areas. This allows individual
memory areas and functionalities of the tags to be provided with a password to protect it against access
and/or changes.
Under Lock, it is possible to lock the memory banks.

Kill password specifies how the kill password is accessible
Ź Select one of the following options from the drop-down menu
No change the current setting for the kill password remains unchanged
Accessible the kill password is readable and writeable from either the open or
secured state
Accessible with the kill password is permanently readable and writeable from
permalock either the open or secured states and may never be locked
Accessible with the kill password is readable and writeable from the secured state
password but not from the open state
