Preface Dear customer, this operating manual are intended to help you make the fullest use of the extensive range of functions offered by your new receiver. We have tried to make the operating manual as easy as possible to understand, and to keep them as concise as possible. To help you understand particular specialist terms that cannot be translated, we have added a short glossary at the end of the manual. The power switch is an environmentally friendly feature.

Unless stated to the contrary in the “Connection and set-up” and “Installation” sections in the manual supplied, maintain a clearance of at least 10 cm above the unit, 2 cm to either side and 5 cm behind the unit, to allow the unobstructed dissipation of the heat generated. There is a risk of fire! Repairs Caution! Ensure that any repairs to your unit are carried out by qualified personnel.

The receivers are fragile due to their construction and are only adequately protected by the original packaging. If the receiver is not shipped correctly the guarantee/warranty on it will be voided.
Safety instructions - Important notes Network function To connect the receiver to the network via the PC/laptop, you must have unrestricted rights (administrator rights) for your PC/laptop and on your network. For this refer to the section “Mainmenu”, “Interfaces”, “Ethernet Settings”. Power consumption in standby mode < 0.5 W The standby power consumption of < 0.5 W given on the receiver packaging will only be achieved when the receiver is in standby mode with the display switched off.
Basic functions Following an overview of the remote control, a simple explanation will be provided of the receiver’s most important functions (with all the required buttons on the remote control). The explanations in the sections “I would like to ...” merely demonstrate the most simple use of the relevant receiver functions without going into any great detail. For more detailed explanations of the functions, refer to the relevant sections.

Basic functions Editing and selection options in the menus In some menus/on-screen displays this box is shown with a particular colour gradation. Each colour gradation represents a specific view/selection. The table below shows which colours are assigned to which buttons. Where the functions of these buttons are assigned for the current menu/view, they are also shown in the line at the bottom of the on-screen display. Tip! Always check the bar at the bottom of the on-screen display.
Basic functions Alphanumeric entries For entries such as names of favourites or search terms, use the keyboard displayed on the screen (see screenshot example). The letters assigned to the number pad also apply to your remote control. They are used in a similar way to those on a mobile phone. Basic functions Automatic time-shift This is a special function provided by the UFS 925. As soon as you switch to a channel, the receiver automatically starts recording the programme you are viewing to the hard disk in the background. If you change channel again, the previously stored data is deleted and background recording begins again.

Basic functions Decrypt: Here you can select whether the programme should be recorded unencrypted (select “Yes”) or encrypted (select “No”) on the hard disk. Selecting “On” means that, depending on the setting in the “Interfaces” “Common Interface” “Multidecryption” menu, you may not be able to view any other encrypted channels that use the same CI module for decoding (see sections “System parameters” “Common interface” and “Multidecryption”).
Basic functions Picture-in-picture The picture-in-picture function permits simultaneous viewing of two programmes. This allows you to see when a programme you want to watch begins without having to leave the programme you are currently watching. The PIP window is however only small, since it is intended for monitoring purposes and not for viewing programmes in the normal way.

The programme guide (referred hereinafter as EPG) is an editorially prepared programme guide of the latest generation. It provides all EPG information for around 160 TV channels free of charge, without you having to change channel, and also offers schedule information up to two weeks in advance.

In the “Current” view you can see all channels displayed in the order of the complete channel list. Provided that EPG data has been supplied by tvtv or by the channel provider, the receiver shows the current programme running on each channel, with start time, finish time, duration and progress bar. ) buttons or the number pad to select the desired channel.

(yellow) In the “Preview” view you will see all programmes to be shown for the channel previously selected in the “Current” view. Provided that EPG data has been supplied/ transmitted by tvtv or by the channel provider, the receiver displays programme lists for up to two weeks in advance.
Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) Categories view The categories overview can be called up at any time in the EPG by pressing the (blue) button. In the “Category” view you can see all programmes sorted by category and starting time. The following main categories are available for selection: Pick of the day, My hints (see “Extras menu”), Films, Entertainment, Sport, News, Children's TV, Music, Special interests, Parental control and HD transmissions.
Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) Timer list view The timer list view can be called up at any (red) time in the EPG by pressing the button. The following on-screen display appears (example): The timer list view shows you all the recordings and reminders that are scheduled (reminders are marked green). For a more precise description of the timer list, see the end of the “Timer recording” item in this section. Timer recording The button allows you to set a programme for recording at any time.

Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) If the “Series recording” function is used to program recording of every edition or episode of a series, the EPG will locate the series in question on the updated schedules and automatically program the recording of them. A change in the time the series is broadcast will be taken into account by the EPG, as its programming is based on the series title. This does, however, mean that the schedule change must have been known prior to the last update of the EPG.
Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) The settings “Avoid repeat episodes” and “Record only this scale” can only be made if the programmes are appropriately marked by tvtv or the broadcaster (season and episode number). If this is not the case, you can only define settings for the selection “Limit recording start from/to”. Reminder function: See “Reminder” item in this section.
Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) Reminder function If you want to be reminded that a programme is about to start, you can activate the reminder function for the desired programme. The reminder function is set up in exactly the same way as programming a recording. The only difference is that the entry in the “Recording” line must be “Reminder (just switch over)”. buttons to switch to the “Date” field and use the buttons to select the desired day.

Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) Timer overlap If your scheduled recordings overlap, the timer list view for the receiver shows the overlapping recordings with a blue background and the recording leading to the overlap is additionally shown in red script against an orange background. You now have the option of deleting one of the recordings or rescheduling so there is no longer an overlap.

Press the button to see a list of those programmes (if any) in which this actor/presenter appears. This depends on the name of this actor/presenter being included in the programme information. You can give these folders the names of your choice and add recordings to them. Create new folder ... buttons to select any recording and then press the button. Main menu Calling up the main menu and introduction The main menu is called up by pressing the button. The following on-screen display appears: Tip! The picture for the programme on the currently selected channel appears in the top right-hand corner of the main menu. You can assign each receiver its own remote control code.
