TUTORIAL
Using the Recorder
ERASING UNNECESSARY SONG DATA
At some point you may want to erase a song. If you have filled up the
memory of the recorder you can erase an old song to make room for a
new one or maybe you’re tired of listening to a particular song. In either
case, the CN piano provides an easy way to erase one or all of the songs
and parts.
To erase a specific song and part, first hold down both the REC
and PLAY/STOP buttons. The LED indicators will display which songs
have been recorded. Select the desired song and part to erase by
pressing the appropriate SOUND SELECT buttons while continuing
to hold down both the REC and the PLAY/STOP buttons. On
releasing both the REC and PLAY/STOP buttons, the CN piano will erase
from memory the song and part you have chosen.
The LED indicator for the erased song or Part will be turned off indicating
there is no longer anything recorded there.
ERASING ALL DATA
To erase everything, all songs and parts at once, first turn the
power off and then turn it back on again while holding down both
the REC and PLAY/STOP buttons. The entire memory of the recorder
will be erased.
The CN piano’s built-in recorder is easy to use and is perfect for practice
and basic recording needs. For those individuals interested in using this
instrument for more complex digital recordings, the CN piano can be
connected to an external MIDI sequencer or a personal computer. Please
read chapter 3. Using MIDI to learn about the CN piano’s MIDI and Multi-
timbral capabilities.
In this chapter, you will learn how you can create music by connecting
the CN piano to an external MIDI device.
The CN piano is compatible with MIDI devices from Kawai and other
manufacturers. It can also be used with sequencing software on a personal
computer.
