3.2 Specificationsfortheelectricalconnection
3.2.1 General
Thechargingstationissetto10ampsinthedeliverystate.SetthemaximumcurrentusingtheDIP
switchestomatchtheinstalledcircuitlinebreaker(seeChapter"4.6DIPswitchsettings").
Thepowersupplylinemustbehardwiredtoanexistinghouseinstallationandcorrespondtothenationally
applicablelegalconditions.
Selectionofthefaultcurrentcircuitbreaker(FI):
● EverychargingstationmustbeconnectedviaitsownFI.NoothercircuitsmaybeconnectedtothisFI.
● GroundfaultcircuitinterruptersofatleasttypeA.
Ifthevehiclestobechargedarenotknown(e.g.semipublicarea),measuresmustbemetforprotection
wheredirectfaultcurrents(>6mA)occur.Thiscanberealized,forexample,throughtheuseofanFI
typespecificallyintendedforelectricvehiclesorwithaFItypeB.Thevehiclemanufacturerspecifica
tionsmustalsobeobserved.

mustbeselectedtomatchthecircuitbreakerandfuse.
Dimensioningofthecircuitlinebreaker:
Whendimensioningthecircuitlinebreakeralsoobservetheincreasedenvironmentaltemperaturesinside
theswitchcabinet!Undercertaincircumstances,thiscanmakeareductionofthechargingcurrentspecifica
tionnecessaryinordertoincreasethesystemavailability.
● Determinethenominalcurrentaccordingtothetypeplatespecificationincoordinationwiththedesired
chargingcapacity(DIPswitchsettingsforchargingcurrentspecification)andthepowersupplyline.
Dimensioningofthepowersupplyline:
Whendimensioningthepowersupplylinealsoobservethepossiblereductionfactorsandtheincreaseden
vironmentaltemperaturesintheinteriorconnectionareaofthechargingstation(seetemperatureratingof
thesupplyterminals)!Undercertaincircumstances,thiscanleadtoanincreaseofthecablecrosssection
andtotheadaptationofthetemperatureresistanceofthepowersupplyline.
Mainsdisconnector:
Thechargingstationdoesnothaveitsownpowerswitch.TheFIcircuitbreakerandthelinecircuitbreaker
ofthepowersupplylineserveasmainsdisconnector.
