5.1.2.4 – SOLO BUTTONS
The solo buttons are used to “solo” a channel.
Click a solo button to engage; click it again to disengage.
An engaged solo button will light up with a yellow background; a disengaged solo
will appear with a black background.
When solo is engaged on a channel, only sound from the soloed channel will be audible; any non-
soloed channels will effectively be muted.
It is possible to solo multiple channels at the same time. Just engage as many solos as desired by
clicking the solo buttons on the channels you want to hear. You can even engage all of them at the
same time! Though, the result would be the same as not having any solos engaged...
EXCLUSIVE SOLO
It is possible to perform an “exclusive solo” by holding down the Shift key on your computer
keyboard when clicking a solo button.
This will make it so only the Shift-clicked channel is soloed; any other channels that were already
soloed are automatically unsoloed when this happens.
TIP: This is also a useful way to disengage multiple solos with a single click. Simply Shift-click an
engaged solo button and all active solo buttons will disengage.
5.1.2.5 – MUTE BUTTONS
The mute buttons are used to “mute” the various mixer channels.
Click a mute button to engage the mute; click it again to disengage.
An engaged mute button will light up with a magenta background; a disengaged
mute will appear with a black background.
When mute is engaged on a channel, that channel’s audio will stop sounding. A muted input
channel will not pass its audio along to the outputs; a muted output pair will not send audio out to
your speakers (or other external gear).
S
M
It is possible to both mute and solo a channel at the same time. Doing this will likely
cause all sound to completely stop, so please be aware when wielding the power
of solos and mutes simultaneously. Always check your mutes and solos when you’re
not getting any audio out of your K-Mix (or, really, any audio equipment).
