THRESHOLD KNOB & NUMBER BOX
The threshold knob controls the volume level at which the compressor will engage.
Turn clockwise to increase (higher threshold); turn counterclockwise to decrease (lower
threshold).
A specic value may be entered into the accompanying number box as an alternative way
of setting the threshold.
Range: -70dB – +10dB
When the effect is enabled, any audio above the threshold will cause the compressor to
engage. Audio below the threshold will pass through unaltered.
MAKEUP GAIN KNOB & NUMBER BOX
The makeup gain knob controls the amount of makeup gain applied to the output of the
compressor. This allows you to increase the overall level of the signal after it has been
compressed; it “makes up” for the gain reduction.
Turn the knob clockwise to increase (more makeup gain); turn counterclockwise to decrease
(less makeup gain).
A specic value may be entered into the accompanying number box as an alternative way
of setting the makeup gain.
Range: 0dB – +24dB
RATIO KNOB & NUMBER BOX
The ratio knob controls the amount the compressor will compress (reduce volume) the audio
when engaged.
Turn clockwise to increase (higher ratio); turn counterclockwise to decrease (lower ratio).
A specic value may be entered into the accompanying number box as an alternative way
of setting the compression ratio.
Range: 0.0 – 10.0
As an example, if the ratio is set to 3.0, any audio above the threshold will be reduced by one-
third (level / 3.0).
ATTACK KNOB & NUMBER BOX
The attack knob controls the attack time of the compressor — the amount of time it takes to reach
full compression once the input signal goes above the threshold.
Turn clockwise to increase (longer attack); turn counterclockwise to decrease (shorter
attack).
A specic value may be entered into the accompanying number box as an alternative way
of setting the attack time.
Range: 1ms – 5000ms
