K-MIX EDITOR

The exact audio tap points can be found in the K-Mix Signal Flow Diagram.
USB OUTPUT (COMPUTER AUDIO TO MIXER)
Input channels 1–8 each have their own “USB Output” pre/post switch. The output pre/post switch
sets where audio going out to the mixer (from a USB connected computer) gets inserted into the
K-Mix’s signal path.
Pre = Beginning of the signal path, just before the DSP effects. This allows you to send
computer audio through K-Mix’s channel strip effects.
Post = Toward the end of the signal path, just before the nal fader and mute on the output
busses. This allows you to mix live inputs with computer audio before sending out to speakers.
5.2.5.2 – SAVE GLOBALS BUTTON
Used to save the current state of all global settings to the K-Mix hardware’s internal memory.
Any changes made in the editor to “global” parameters (parameters that are not stored on a per preset
basis) will be immediately reected and heard on the connected mixer, but they will not be stored in its
internal memory. If power is lost and the K-Mix is turned on again, all changes will be lost; it will boot up
with its last saved state. When you have found settings you would like to keep, it is wise to use the Save
Globals button to make sure your global settings are not forgotten.
The other method to make sure your global settings are remembered between power cycles is to
power down your K-Mix by holding down the [ ] for three seconds. Powering down in this manner will
ensure all global settings are saved to your K-Mix’s internal memory; simply unplugging your K-Mix from
its power source will not do this. More information about global parameters can be found in section
5.1.1.10 – “Global” Parameters vs. “Per Preset” parameters.
When set to “Post”, it is possible to combine audio coming into the mixer from the
analog inputs and from a computer (via USB) on the same output channel. The
analog input audio and USB audio will sum together just before the output bus fader
and mute.
When set to “Pre”, that channel’s analog input on the K-Mix hardware will be
disabled. The live input and the computer audio will not sum together and go
through the channel strip effects. Only the computer audio will be heard. K-Mix’s
analog inputs will effectively be disabled on any channel set to “Pre”.
