5.3.2 – HARDWARE SETTINGS
The Hardware Settings section of the Preferences window contains
options related to the behavior of the K-Mix hardware itself.
5.3.2.1 – INPUT LIMITER ON/OFF*
Enables or disables the input protection limiter, a limiter circuit
designed to prevent overloading K-Mix’s ADCs. This switch is global
for all inputs; you cannot enable/disable this for specic input
channels.
ON = protection limiter is on
OFF = protection limiter is off
By default, the input limiter is disabled.
5.3.2.2 – BACKLIGHTING ON/OFF*
Turns K-Mix’s “backlighting” on or off. “Backlighting” refers to the blue mode buttons. By default, all
mode buttons will be dimly illuminated (the currently selected mode will be brightly illuminated).
When backlighting is turned off, the mode buttons that would normally be dimly illuminated will just be
completely off.
ON = mode buttons are always lit up to some extent
OFF = only the currently selected mode will light up
By default, Backlighting is enabled.
5.3.2.3 – PASS THRU
A switch that enables/disables “Pass Thru” for the faders and rotaries.
With the lack of traditional knobs or faders, K-Mix allows you to make discontinuous jumps; if you want
to jump from 11 to 127 you don’t have to move the faders through every value in-between. This can be
very useful in some situations, but could be less than desirable for some people.
Pass Thru is meant to solve this. When enabled, faders and rotaries will not move until your nger
“passes through” the current value. This will prevent any discontinuous jumps that may occur otherwise.
Other software/hardware may sometimes refer to this functionality as fader “takeover”.
ON = Pass Thru is enabled.
OFF = Pass Thru is disabled.
By default, Pass Thru is disabled.
5.3.2.4 – LED BRIGHTNESS*
A number box that adjusts the overall LED brightness level of a connected K-Mix.
Range: 1–16
