Remove the Packaging ■ ■ Remove tape and glue residue from surfaces before turning on the refrigerator. Rub a small amount of liquid dish soap over the adhesive with your fingers.
Water Pressure Electrical Requirements WARNING A cold water supply with water pressure of between 30 and 120 psi (207 and 827 kPa) is required to operate the water dispenser and ice maker. If you have questions about your water pressure, call a licensed, qualified plumber. Reverse Osmosis Water Supply Electrical Shock Hazard Plug into a grounded 3 prong outlet. Do not remove ground prong. Do not use an adapter. Do not use an extension cord.
Refrigerator Doors Gather the required tools and parts before starting installation. TOOLS NEEDED: ¹⁄₄" hex-head socket wrench, ⁵⁄₁₆" hex-head socket wrench and a flat-blade screwdriver. IMPORTANT: Before you begin, turn the refrigerator control OFF. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. Remove food and any adjustable door or utility bins from doors. WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard Disconnect power before removing doors. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock.
Remove the Doors WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard Disconnect power before removing doors. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock. 1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. 2. Open both refrigerator doors. Remove the base grille. Place hands along the ends of the grille. Push in on the top of the base grille and pull up on the bottom. See Graphic 1. 3. Close both doors and keep them closed until you are ready to lift them free from the cabinet. 4.
Connect Water Supply Read all directions before you begin. IMPORTANT: If you turn the refrigerator on before the water line is connected, turn the ice maker OFF. Connect to Water Line 1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. 2. Turn OFF main water supply. Turn ON nearest faucet long enough to clear line of water. 3. Locate a ¹⁄₂" (12.70 mm) to 1¹⁄₄" (3.18 cm) vertical cold water pipe near the refrigerator. IMPORTANT: ■ Make sure it is a cold water pipe.
3. Thread the provided nut onto the water valve as shown. NOTE: Tighten the nut by hand. Then tighten it with a wrench two more turns. Do not overtighten. NOTE: Make sure the base grille filter is properly installed and the cap is in the horizontal position. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts. A B A.
REFRIGERATOR USE Ensuring Proper Air Circulation In order to ensure proper temperatures, you need to permit air to flow between the two sections. Cold air enters the bottom of the freezer section and moves up. It then enters the refrigerator section through the top vent. On Style 2 models, this air is also evenly distributed throughout the refrigerator compartment through six vents on the back wall. Air then returns to the freezer as shown.
SmartSense™ Temperature Management The SmartSense™ feature assists with regulating the temperature inside the refrigerator. If a large quantity of warm food is placed in the refrigerator or warm air enters the refrigerator while the door is held open, SmartSense™ activates to quickly restore the temperature to the set point. NOTE: SmartSense™ is always on when your refrigerator is operating. You do not need to press any buttons to activate it.
To Dispense Ice: Water Filter Status Light 1. Press the button to select the desired type of ice. WARNING Cut Hazard (on some models) The water filter status light will help you know when to change your water filter. When the status light changes from green to yellow, this tells you that it is almost time to change the water filter. It is recommended that you replace the filter when the status light changes to red OR when water flow to your water dispenser or ice maker decreases noticeably.
■ There will be water in the filter. Some spilling may occur. Flushing the Water System After Changing Filter After connecting the refrigerator to a water source, flush the water system. Use a sturdy container to depress and hold the water dispenser lever for 5 seconds, then release it for 5 seconds. Repeat until water begins to flow. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser lever (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) for an additional 5 minutes.
Removing and Replacing the Storage Bin Remember 1. Hold the base of the storage bin with both hands and press the release button to lift the storage bin up and out. NOTE: It is not necessary to turn the ice maker control to the OFF (right) position when removing the storage bin. The sensor cover (“flipper door”) on the left wall of the freezer stops the ice maker from producing ice if the door is open or the storage bin is removed. ■ Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice.
Adjusting the Control Deli Drawer The deli drawer stores raisins, nuts, spreads, and other small items at normal refrigerator temperatures. To Remove and Replace the Deli Drawer: 1. Remove the deli drawer by sliding it straight out to the stop. Lift the front and slide the drawer out the rest of the way. 2. Replace the deli drawer by sliding it back past the stop. Convertible Vegetable/Meat Drawer, Crisper and Covers Crisper and Convertible Vegetable/Meat Drawers To Remove and Replace Drawers: 1.
Wine or Can/Bottle Rack Freezer Basket or Bin (on some models - Accessory) (plastic bin on some models) To Remove and Replace the Wine Rack (left) or Can/Bottle Rack (right): The freezer basket or bin can be used to store bags of frozen fruits and vegetables that may slide off freezer shelves. 1. Remove the rack by pulling it straight out from the shelf. 2. Replace the rack by sliding it in between the shelf and the wall of the refrigerator. To Remove and Replace the Freezer Basket or Bin: 1.
Chilled Door Bin (on some models) Cool air from the freezer is directed to the door bin directly beneath the vent. NOTE: The dairy compartment and can rack are not chilled. Drop-In Door Rails To Remove and Replace the Rails: 1. Remove the rails by pulling straight up on each end of the rail. 2. Replace the rails by sliding the shelf rail into the slots on the door and pushing the rail straight down until it stops. Door Bins (on some models) To Remove and Replace the Bins: Chilled Door Bin Control 1.
To Remove and Replace the Bin Parts: 1. Press either release button to open the tilt-out portion of the bin. REFRIGERATOR CARE A Cleaning WARNING Explosion Hazard A. Release buttons 2. To remove the tilt-out portion of the bin, press in on the curved levers on each side of the bin. Pull up and out. NOTES: Use nonflammable cleaner. Failure to do so can result in death, explosion, or fire. ■ The bin cannot be removed if it is tilted out all the way.
Stainless steel finish: Wash with a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. ■ To keep your stainless steel refrigerator looking like new and to remove minor scuffs or marks, it is suggested that you use the manufacturer’s approved Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish. Power Interruptions If the power will be out for 24 hours or less, keep the door or doors closed (depending on your model) to help food stay cold and frozen. If the power will be out for more than 24 hours, do one of the following: ■ Remove all frozen food and store it in a frozen food locker. ■ Place 2 lbs (907 g) of dry ice in the freezer for every cubic foot (28 L) of freezer space. This will keep the food frozen for 2 to 4 days.
TROUBLESHOOTING Try the solutions suggested here first in order to avoid the cost of an unnecessary service call.
Off-taste, odor or gray color in the ice Temperature and Moisture Temperature is too warm ■ New plumbing connections? New plumbing connections can cause discolored or off-flavored ice. ■ New installation? Allow 24 hours following installation for the refrigerator to cool completely. ■ Ice stored too long? Discard ice. Wash ice bin. Allow 24 hours for ice maker to make new ice. ■ Door(s) opened often or left open? Allows warm air to enter refrigerator.
■ Is the water pressure at least 30 psi (207 kPa)? The water pressure to the home determines the flow from the dispenser. See “Water Supply Requirements.” PROTECTION AGREEMENTS ■ Kink in the home water source line? Straighten the water source line. Master Protection Agreements ■ New installation? Flush and fill the water system. ■ Water filter installed on the refrigerator? The filter may be clogged or incorrectly installed.

Puertas del refrigerador Reúna las herramientas y piezas necesarias antes de comenzar la instalación. HERRAMIENTAS NECESARIAS: Llaves de cubo de cabeza hexagonal de ¹⁄₄" y ⁵⁄₁₆" y un destornillador de hoja plana. IMPORTANTE: Antes de comenzar, fije el control del refrigerador a OFF (Apagado). Desenchufe el refrigerador o desconecte el suministro de energía. Quite los alimentos y cualquier puerta ajustable o recipientes utilitarios de las puertas.

Desenchufe el refrigerador o desconecte el suministro de energía. 2. Abra ambas puertas del refrigerador. Quite la rejilla de la base. Sujete la rejilla con sus manos por los extremos. Empuje hacia adentro sobre la parte superior de la rejilla de la base y jale hacia arriba sobre la parte inferior.
1. Use una llave de cabeza hexagonal para ajustar los tornillos niveladores del rodillo delantero hasta que las puertas estén parejas. Gire el tornillo nivelador del rodillo delantero hacia la derecha para levantar ese lado del refrigerador o gire el tornillo nivelador hacia la izquierda para bajar ese lado. Vea la ilustración 9 en “Puertas del refrigerador”. NOTA: Después de cada ajuste, abra y cierre las puertas del congelador y del refrigerador para comprobar el alineamiento de las puertas. 2.
Estilo 2 1. Desenchufe el refrigerador o desconecte el suministro de energía. 2. Retire y descarte el tapón de nylon negro del tubo de agua gris en la parte trasera del refrigerador. 3. Si el tubo de agua gris suministrado con el refrigerador no es suficientemente largo, se necesita un acoplamiento de ¼" x ¼" (6,35 mm x 6,35 mm) para conectar la tubería de agua a una línea doméstica de agua existente. Enrosque la tuerca provista sobre el acoplamiento en el extremo de la tubería de cobre.
2. Use un recipiente resistente para oprimir y sostener la barra del despachador de agua por 5 segundos, luego suéltela por 5 segundos. Repita hasta que el agua comience a correr. Una vez que el agua comenzó a correr, continúe presionando y soltando la barra del despachador (5 segundos activado, 5 segundos desactivado) por otros 5 minutos. Este proceso eliminará el aire en el filtro y en el sistema de despacho de agua. En algunas casas se podrá requerir enjuague adicional.
Controles digitales Producción acelerada de hielo Para su conveniencia, los controles vienen prefijados de fábrica. Al instalar su refrigerador, asegúrese de que los controles aún estén prefijados como se muestra. El panel de control digital está ubicado en la parte superior del compartimiento del refrigerador y le permite ver los puntos de ajuste del control de temperatura. NOTA: Los puntos de ajuste recomendados de fábrica son 0ºF (-18ºC) para el congelador y 37ºF (3ºC) para el refrigerador.
Alarma de puerta entreabierta La característica de la alarma de puerta entreabierta hace sonar una alarma cuando la puerta del refrigerador o del congelador esté abierta por 5 minutos. La alarma se repetirá cada minuto hasta que se cierren ambas puertas o hasta que la alarma de puerta entreabierta se silencie o se apague temporariamente. Cuando se abre una puerta, se activa la alarma de puerta entreabierta y se enciende el indicador. La luz indicadora destella cuando suena la alarma.
AUTO (Automática): Presione el botón de LIGHT por segunda vez para seleccionar el modo automático. La luz del despachador se ajustará automáticamente para ponerse más brillante a medida que la habitación se ilumine más y más tenue a medida que la habitación se oscurezca. APAGADO: Presione el botón de LIGHT por tercera vez para apagar la luz del despachador. Las luces del despachador son del tipo LED y no deberían necesitar cambiarse.

Cajón para carnes frías El cajón para carnes frías es muy conveniente para guardar pasas, nueces, comidas para untar y otros artículos pequeños a la temperatura normal del refrigerador. Para quitar y volver a colocar el cajón para carnes frías: 1. Quite el cajón de carnes frías deslizándolo hacia afuera hasta el tope. Levante el frente y deslice el cajón hacia afuera hasta que salga. 2. Vuelva a colocar el cajón de carnes frías deslizándolo hacia atrás pasando el tope.
■ Control de humedad del cajón para verduras Usted puede controlar el nivel de humedad en el cajón hermético para verduras. El control de humedad está ubicado en el cajón para verduras. Regule el control a cualquier ajuste entre LOW (Bajo) y HIGH (Alto). Verduras de hoja: Lávelas con agua fría, escúrralas y deshágase de las partes magulladas o amarillentas. Colóquelas en una bolsa de plástico o un recipiente de plástico y guárdelas en el cajón para verduras.
CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LA PUERTA Su modelo podrá contar con algunas o todas estas características. Las características que pueden adquirirse por separado como accesorios vienen identificadas como “Accesorio”. No todos los accesorios encajarán en todos los modelos. Quite el recipiente levantándolo y jalándolo directamente hacia afuera. 2. Para limpiar su refrigerador: 1. Desenchufe el refrigerador o desconecte el suministro de energía. 2. Quite todas las partes desmontables del interior, tales como estantes, cajones para verduras, etc. 3. Lave a mano, enjuague y seque todas las partes desmontables y las superficies interiores meticulosamente. Use una esponja limpia o un paño suave y un detergente suave con agua tibia.
