1. Plan where and how the ductwork will be located. Install proper-sized ductwork, transition(s), elbow(s), and roof or wall cap for the type of blower you are using. If using round ducts, use a transition. For best results, use a minimum number of transition and elbows. Use 2" metal foil duct tape to seal joints. 2. A Backspiash is available (see page 5 for more details). This backspiash must be installed before the hood shell because the hood shell covers the backspiash top mounting screws. Also, when the range control panel is higher than the cooktop, make sure there is at least 18" (457 mm) clearance between the bottom of hood and the range control panel. (Refer to instructions included with backspiash.) 1.
Run power cable to installation location. Place the hood at its location. Using a pen, mark the position of the screws (smaller part of the key holes). Remove the hood and install the (8) 1/2" double thread screws leaving a 1/8" gap (4 screws for 30" hood). Remove wiring cover and set aside. Place the wire clamp, insert the hood and tighten the wire clamp to secure the cable. Place the hood under the cabinet and slide it in position. Make sure the adapter enters the ductwork.
