be a leak in the system,the gaswill settle near the ground.
Basements,crawlspaces,skirted areasunder mobile homes
(evonwhonventilated),dusetsandareasbelowgrouodlere_will
serve as pocketsfor the accumulation of this gas. Before
attemptingto lightor mlightthe waterheater_pilotor toming
ona nearbyelectricallightswitch,be absolutelysurethere isno
accumulatedgasinthearea.Searchforodorofgasbysn'#flngat
groundlevelint_e vicinityof the appliance.If odorisdetected,
follow stepsindicatedat "For YourSafety"on the coverpageof
this manualthenleavethe premise_
Lighting and operating instructions are located on front of the
water heater, above or to one side of the gas control valve.
