store. Sucha drain pan mustbe not greater than I _ inches
deep,havea minimum lengthand widthof at least2 inches
greaterthan the water heater dimensionsand mustbepiped
to an adequatedrain.The panmustnot restrictcombustionair
flow.Under no circumstancesisthe manufactureror Searsto
be held liablefor any water damagein connectionwith this
water heater.

HYDROGEN GAS: Hydrogengas canbe producedin a hot
water systemthat hasnot beenusedfor a longperiod of time
(generallytwo weeksor more). Hydrogen gasisextremely
flammableand explosive.To preventthe possibilityof injury"
underthese conditions,we recommend the hot water faucet
be openedfor severalqlinutesat the 16tcbensinkbefore any
aiec_cal applianceswhich are connectedto the hot water sys-

soundsimilarto air escapingthrough the pipe as thehotwater

heater.
Failureto heed this will resultin the possibilityof a Ere or
explosion.
