* Never use harsh, gritty or
abrasive cleaners on any surface
of the Kenmore Laundry Center.
- At the end of each laundry day,
push Timer knobs in, wipe top
and both sides of washer lid and
dryer door with a damp cloth.
Turn off hot and cold water to
reduce pressure on water hoses.
* Occasionally clean the entire
cabinet with a damp cloth. Stains
on the lid, top or tub can be
removed with a diluted solution
of chlorine bleach (112 cup to 1
quart water). Rinse well with clear
water.
Spray cans of color-matched
enamel are available from your
SEARS store or Servme C_nter to
touch up scratches on the painted
cabinet.
SOLVING MINOR
PROBLEtVlS

ELECTRICAL SUPPLY CORD
AND WATER HOSES BEFORE
SERVICING. FAILURE TO
DISCONNECT CAN CAUSE
ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR
SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY.
Water leaks at hose connections:
Disconnect hose from valve.
Remove rubber washer at end of
hose and replace with new
washer.
Reconnect hose to valve, DO
NOT overtighten.
Slow water drain--kinked drain
hose:
If Kenmore Laundry Center has
been moved from its installed
position for any reason, always
check that the drain hose is not
kinked or coiled when the Ken-
more Laundry Center is moved
back in place.
Slower than normal water fill:
Both cold and hot water inlet con-
nections have fine mesh filter
screens to prevent foreign matter
from entering the washer valve. If
these screens become clogged the
water flow to washer is restricted.
Disconnect hoses from water
valve and water supply.
Remove screens from inlet valve
connections. Clean screens under
running water.
Replace screens and re-connect
hoses and valves. DO NOT over-
tighten.
TO STORE LAUNDRY
CENTER IN THE COLD:
The washer cannot be operated in
freezing temperatures. Before you
store the appliance, remove water
from all parts of the washer.
I. Turn off water supply faucets.
Disconnect hoses from the
faucets and drain,
.
Add I gallon of non-toxic RV
antifreeze (available from the
hardware or recreational vehicIe
store) to the washer tub.
3. Push Cycle Selector knob in,
turn the knob to the right to
SPIN and pull the knob out.
,
Let the washer spin for I or 2
minutes to let all water drain out.
Some but not all of the RV anti-
freeze will be expelled.
-5. Push Cycle Selector knob in, dry
the tub interior, disconnect the
electrical plug, close the lid.
Store the appliance in an upright
position.
To clean out antifreeze after
storage, run the washer through a
complete cycle using 112 cup of
detergent• Do not add clothes load.
