Maintaining Your Water Optimizer
Replacing Your Water Optimizer’s Filters
Your Water Optimizer is equipped with a
I
Pod Filter(s) Status Light
to indicate
when you need to change your pod lters (based on typical usage).
This reminder
is controlled by a timer that will change the Pod Filter(s) Status Light
from white to red
every six months. This timer can be reset by following the last step in this section.
To maximize lter and appliance lifespan, it is very important to always ush the
F1
ULTRA+3 Hybrid Filter , or alternative
F3
Chemical Filter and the
F5
Polishing Filter (if purchased separately), prior to installing them into your
Water Optimizer.
For this step, you will need a towel, a container to catch water, and your Filter Flushing
Setup you assembled during installation.
1. Unplug
Z
110v Power Cord from the electrical outlet.
2. Shuto water ow to your appliance by turning the blue handle on the
C
1/4 in. Quick Connect Shuto Valve (see Installation Guide) connected to your
Optimizer’s
BB
Source Input Port located at the back of the appliance.
3. Place your container below the
O
Water Dispenser Nozzle, then press the
K
Ambient Dispense Mode Button, quickly followed by pressing and holding the
N
Dispense Button to depressurize the system, by dispensing water into a cup until water
ow stops.
4. If you aren’t replacing the
F1
ULTRA+3 Hybrid Filter (or one of the alternative lters
listed above), you can skip ahead to “Step 9” on page 14.
5. Disconnect the tubing running between our Optimizer’s
BB
Source Input Port and
the
C
1/4 in. Quick Connect Shuto Valve you just shuto, and place end of the
tubing into the container to catch any water that drains back.
6. Connect the open end of the tubing from your
G
Filter Flushing Setup to the
C
1/4 in. Quick Connect Shuto Valve that you just disconnected.
7. Connect the lter(s) listed above that you are replacing to the
G
Filter Flushing Attachment, and ush by opening the
C
