Before Use The marking of products using lasers (Except for some areas) CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT If you have transmitted the Mask Key's signal once to the unit in advance, you will have to transmit it once again if the unit has been removed from the battery. 2 CAUTION The label is attached to the chassis/case and says that the component uses laser beams that have been classified as Class 1. Cleaning the disc slot Checking New discs for Burrs As dust can accumulate in the disc slot, clean it occasionally. Your discs can get scratched if you put them in a dusty disc slot. Lens Fogging Right after you turn on the car heater in cold weather, dew or condensation may form on the lens in the disc player of the unit. Called lens fogging, discs may be impossible to play. In such a situation, remove the disc and wait for the condensation to evaporate.

When listening to an RDS station (ie, a station with RDS capability), the programme service name of the station is displayed along with the frequency, advising you quickly which station is being received.

Installation for Monitor Unit 2 CAUTION When mounting the main unit after checking the operation, close the monitor first. NOTE Make sure that the unit is installed securely in place. If the unit is unstable, it may malfunction. Installing the Antenna Units • Attach the antenna to the inner glass surface of the rear window using double-sided tape. Carefully check the installation location as the tape can only be stuck on once. • If the surface temperature of the glass of the rear window is low, warm it by turning on the power of the rear defogger. A cold window glass surface will weaken the adhesive strength of the double-sided tape.

Installation 2WARNING Connecting the ISO Connector The pin arrangement for the ISO connectors depends on the type of vehicle you drive. Make sure to make the proper connections to prevent damage to the unit. The default connection for the wiring harness is described in 1 below. If the ISO connector pins are set as described in 2 or 3, make the connection as illustrated.

Troubleshooting Guide What might appear to be a malfunction in your unit may just be the result of slight misoperation or miswiring. Before calling service, first check the following table for possible problems. PROBLEM The power does not turn on. POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION The fuse has blown. After checking for short circuits in the wires, replace the fuse with one having the same rating. No ACC position on vehicle ignition. Connect the same wire to the ignition as the battery wire.
Troubleshooting Guide PROBLEM 66 POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION The TEL mute function does not work. The TEL mute wire is not connected properly. Connect the wire correctly, referring to the section on "Connection". The TEL mute function turns on even though the TEL mute wire is not connected. The TEL mute wire is touching a metal part of the car. Pull the TEL mute wire away from the metal part of the car. The sound/picture skips on a DVD/VCD/CD. The disc is scratched or dirty.
External disc control mode PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION The disc control mode cannot be selected. No cable has been connected to the disc changer input terminal on the unit. Connect the cable to the disc changer input terminal on the unit. The specified disc does not play, but another one plays instead. The specified CD is very dirty. Clean the CD. The CD is upside-down. Load the CD with the labelled side up. The disc is loaded in a different slot from that specified.
