Assembling the Puffin Saranac. We recommend that you study this manual carefully before you start the assembly procedure. When assembling the Puffin Saranac, please refer to the illustrations on the cover of this instruction manual. 1. Lay out the Boat Skin and assemble all the straight rods. The sections of the long rods are internally connected by elastic cords to ensure correct assembly. 2. Insert both Gunwales into the sleeves along each the edges of the Boat Skin as far as they will go.
the “wings” are flush with the sides of the boat. Make sure the stems are in alignment with the ends of the boat skin. If you had problems in Step 2, push the gunwales all the way in and drop them inside the skin. Close and secure the flaps to cover the gunwale ends. 7. Repeat the procedure in step 5 and 6 with Cross Ribs (4). 8. Repeat the procedure in step 5 and 6 with Cross Ribs (3), (2), and (1). 9. Inflate the Flotation Tubes.
Installing Seat for Solo. 1. 2. 3. 4. Install the removable thwart on a Cross Rib (4) as shown in illustration on the front cover. Inflate the seat. The seat is most comfortable if it is just filled with air, but not pressurized. Place the seat just in front of the thwart on Cross Rib (4). Run the front straps around the Cross Ribs (4) and secure the snaps. 5. Run the rear seat strap under the cross rib, over the thwart, and secure with the buckle. Disassembling the Puffin Saranac.
Some general information about your Puffin Saranac. Patches and reinforcements: Punctures and abrasions to the boat skin are easily repaired with the enclosed repair kit. ‐ ‐ ‐ ‐ Cut a patch to cover the damaged area plus ¾” around it. Round the corners of the patch. Clean the patch and the area to be covered. Apply a thin coat of adhesive to both surfaces. Wait until the adhesive feels dry to the touch. Make sure the surfaces are pressed together well.
