CONNECTIONS
The KETRON DG 20 digital piano is equipped with the following connections on the rear panel under the keyboard:
OUTPUTS:2 Right and Left audio stereo outputs, to which external amplifiers, mixer consoles or PA systems can be connected.
INPUTS:2 Right and Left audio stereo inputs to which keyboards, compact disk drives or other equipment complete with linear
signal ou put can be connected.
PEDALS:Socket for the connection connector of the 2 pedals to the console of the DG 20.
MIDI In/Out/Thru: MIDI sockets. The MIDI unit is a digital interface used to communicate and exchange musical data between electronic
instruments equipped with MIDI.
HEADPHONES:There are two stereo headphones on the left hand side of the instrument under the keyboard. The headphones are used
to practice on your own or to play right through the night without disturbing anybody. The built-in speakers amplifica-
tion system is automatically disabled when the headphones are connected.
AMPLIFICATION SYSTEM
The DG 20 is equipped with a built-in stereo amplification system that includes a 2 x 25 W RMS amplifier and a set of wide band speakers.
MASTER VOLUME
The volume cursor controls the total sound level of the instrument. To adequately reproduce the sound of the piano, you are recommended not
to exceed 50-70% of the total volume, since this value allows you to obtain a sound level comparable with that of a traditional acoustic piano.
KEYBOARD / PEDALS
The DG 20 is equipped with a keyboard of 88 high quality weighted keys, sensitive to the touch.
It also avails of 2 pedals that are capable of reproducing the range of the expressive effects similar to those produced by the pedals of the
acoustic piano.
SSOOFFTT
(left pedal): this tones down the volume and the brilliance of the sound.
SSUUSSTTAAIINN
(right pedal): it works just like the typical Sustain pedal on the acoustic piano and extends the notes played.
PRESETS
The DG 20 is equipped with 8 Preset instrument voices: Grand Piano, E. Piano, Vibes, Strings, DX Piano, Harpsichord, Choir, Church.
As there are 4 keys foreseen to select the Voices (near to the Master and Brilliance cursor keys), each key has been assigned two voices and
the user switches from one to the other by pressing the Variation key. If one of the first four voices is to be selected (i.e. Grand Piano, E. Piano,
Vibes, Strings), the
VVaarriiaattiioonn
key must be off, whereas if a voice among the second group of four (DX Piano, Harpsichord, Choir, Church) is to be
selected, first of all activate the Variation key.
DUAL MODE
The Dual Mode is used to select two Preset Voices simultaneously. If, for example, you wish to play Piano and Strings together, press and hold
the Grand key down and then press the Strings key too. In this case the Strings Voice is denominated 2nd Voice, since it is the second one
pressed. If a Preset Voice amongst the first 4 locations is to be played in Dual Mode with another amongst the second 4, such as Grand and
Choir for example, press the Grand key first and hold it down, then press Variation and then, holding both keys down, press the key relative to
the Choir Voice too.
BRILLIANCE / 2
ND
VOICE BALANCE
The Brilliance / 2
nd
Voice Brilliance cursor has two different functions:
BBrriilllliiaannccee
: when you play with just one voice at a time, the cursor controls the brilliance of the sound. To obtain a soft and natural sound
of a piano, you are recommended not to exceed 70-80 % of the total Brilliance value.
