Troubleshooting
Indicator Specifications
The communication status of PROFIBUS DP can be checked by checking the DL-PD1
indicators.
LED display during
normal operation
Station Failure Indicator (OFF)
Bus Failure Indicator (OFF)
Data Exchange Indicator (green)
Sensor amplifier Communication Indicator (green)
SF BF DE D-bus State Solution
OFF OFF Green Green Operating properly.
Red Red OFF OFF Starting up
The unit enters normal state after startup
operation is complete.
Red Red OFF Red System error
Turn the power on again. If the unit does not
recover, please contact your nearest
KEYENCE office (addresses are listed at the
back of this manual).

Starting up
The unit enters normal state after startup
operation is complete.
Red
An error occurred in the
internal system.
Check that the DL-PD1 is properly connected
to the sensor amplifier and turn the DL-PD1 on
again.
Red
(Flashing)
Communication is tentatively
impossible.
Check that there is no noise generation source
around the DL-PD1. (If the cause is removed,
normal condition is automatically recovered.)
Red
(Flashing 4

An incompatible sensor or
a foreign sensor amplifier
(i.e., one that cannot be
intermixed) is connected.
A current limitation error
has occurred.
Confirm the sensor amplifier configuration.
Red OFF Green Green
The station address setting
switch was changed during
operation.
If it was not an intentional change, recover the
setting. Normal condition is automatically
recovered.

Check that the hardware configuration on the
configuration software coincides with the
actual configuration.
Check that the station address setting on the
configuration software coincides with the
station address setting on the rotary switch
of the DL-PD1.
Using the configuration software, check that
the DL-PD1 Parameters are correctly set.
