Multi-drop Link Mode Data Communication
Multi-drop link mode allows code or tag information to be sent to the host computer via either
"auto-polling" or "manual polling".
The options are each explained below.
This is generally set to "auto-polling".
Auto-polling
About auto-polling
Auto-polling allows the BL/SR/RF Series devices connected to an N-410 and assigned an ID
number to be continuously polled by the N-410 (using those ID numbers) at startup. The N-410
then continuously sends read data to the host computer.
The load on the host computer program is extremely low because the N-410 handles all of the
data queries automatically.
Communication format
When using auto-polling, data is sent to the host computer from the N-410 in the following format.
• mm=01 to 31: The BL/SR/RF Series device ID number
• nnnn = the number of characters in the data (4 ASCII characters)
* the total of character count for the data is part 1 + part 2.
• (Data) = Data obtained
ERROR : BL/SR/RF Series device unable to obtain data.
OVER : A buffer overflow has occurred.
• Choose from the following for the header and delimiter. The options are not limited to those listed
below (up to five characters).
