Troubleshoong
If you experience any problems in using the DVR, try the following soluons to these common problems before calling
for service. If problems persist, contact the customer service in your area.
Queson: The DVR does not turn on and the indicators are not lit.
Answer:
Check if the power adapter is properly connected.
Plug the power cord to another power outlet, the current outlet may be damaged.
The power cord may be damaged, contact the dealer to purchase a new one.
Queson: Some channels have no video signal.
Answer:
Check if the camera is properly connected.
Check if the camera is supplied with power.
Set the correct video format used in your country (NTSC/PAL). See “System Setup” on page 33.
The camera cable may be damaged, replace with a new one.
Queson: I have changed the administrator password but I cannot remember it.
Answer:
To obtain the factory default password, contact your retailer or directly send an email to KGUARD at
support@kguardsecurity.com.
Queson: The remote control is not working.
Answer:
Make sure nothing is blocking the remote control and the DVR sensor. Aim the remote control at a proper
distance.
Check the remote control baeries.
Queson: I cannot control the PTZ camera.
Answer:
Make sure the protocol, baud rate, address code and other sengs on the camera match the sengs you have
congured on the DVR. See “PTZ Setup” on page 55.
Check if the cables are properly connected.
Queson: I am geng too many email alerts.
Answer:
Check if the Sending Interval seng for the email alerts. See “E-mail” on page 52.
If the DVR keep reporng errors such as Video Loss or HDD error, check if the camera is properly connected or
other hardware conguraons.
Queson: I cannot access the web client.
Answer:
Check if the network cable is properly connected to the DVR.
Check if the network sengs are properly congured. See “LAN” on page 49.
Ensure that you have Internet Explorer 6 or above.
Queson: The buzzer keeps on sounding.
Answer:
Check the alarm sengs. Moon Detecon or Video Loss may be detected. Check the HDD capacity and the
video connecons, which may be triggering the alarm.
