Installation Sheet

CAGE ASSEMBLY:
1) Place base of cage on flat surface. Nubs at each corner of base should be facing
up.
2) Attach side of cage with 3 rods to base: The two rods with holes near the ends of
each rod should be vertical with open ends of rods pointing down towards base.
Push open end of each vertical rod over nub at each corner of base.
3) Align holes on side each rod with hole in each nub. Thread screw into each hole in
rod and into hole in nub.
4) Attach side of cage with two rods: Position side so nub at corner of two rods is
facing into cage. Horizontal rod should be at top of cage assembly with open end
of rod positioned to top corner of assembled side. Push open end of vertical rod
down over nub on corner of base of cage. Push open end of vertical rod over nub
at top corner of assembled side.
5) Align holes on side each rod with hole in each nub. Thread screw into each hole in
rod and into hole in nub.
6) Attach one single rod to base of cage: Push open end of single rod over nub.
Align hole in side of rod with hole in side of nub. Thread screw into hole in rod and
into nub.
7) Attach one single rod to nub at top corner of cage: Push open end of rod over nub
on side of cage. Align hole in side of rod with hole in side of nub. Thread screw
into hole in rod and into nub.
8) Repeat step 7 for remaining single rods.
9) Tighten all screws.
FIXTURE ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION:
1) Position cage so the opening where the three rods do not join is facing up.
2) Lower socket down through open space between ends of the three rods.
3) Align each hole along cup at top of socket with open end of each rod.
4) From inside cup, thread one ball stud into each hole in cup and into each end of
rod. Tighten all ball studs to secure socket to cage.
5) Pass fixture wire from hex coupling in center of cup through hole in top cover.
Place top cover into cup.
6) Pass fixture wire through small threaded pipe. Screw small threaded pipe down
into hole in top plate and into hex coupling.
7) Pass fixture wire through coupling. Thread coupling onto end of threaded pipe
protruding up from center of top plate.
8) Pass wire from fixture through stem and screw stem to coupling. NOTE: Thread
locking compound must be applied to all stem threads as noted with symbol (3)
to prevent accidental rotation of fixture during cleaning, relamping, etc.
9) Pass fixture wire through remaining stems and screw stems together.
10) Pass fixture wire through first loop. Thread first loop onto end of last stem.
11) Pass fixture wire through second loop and through hole in canopy.
12) Pass threaded pipe at end of second loop through hole in canopy.
13) Pass fixture wire through hole in lockwasher. Thread lockwasher onto threaded
pipe protruding from inside canopy. Pass fixture wire through hole in hexnut and
thread hexnut onto end of threaded pipe.
14) Attach chain link to small loop at end of stem and to loop on canopy.
15) TURN OFF POWER.
IMPORTANT: Before you start, NEVER attempt any work without shutting off the
electricity until the work is done.
a) Go to the main fuse, or circuit breaker, box in your home. Place the main
power switch in the “OFF” position.
b) Unscrew the fuse(s), or switch “OFF” the circuit breaker switch(s), that control
the power to the fixture or room that you are working on.
c) Place the wall switch in the “OFF” position. If the fixture to be replaced has a
switch or pull chain, place those in the “OFF” position.
16) Find the appropriate threaded holes on mounting strap. Assemble mounting
screws into threaded holes.
17) Attach mounting strap to outlet box. (Screws not provided). Mounting strap can be
adjusted to suit position of fixture.
18) Make wire connections (connectors not provided.) Reference chart below for
correct connections and wire accordingly.
19) Push fixture to ceiling, carefully passing mounting screws through holes in
canopy.
20) Thread knurl knobs onto mounting screws. Tighten knurl knobs to secure fixture
to ceiling.
