How To Use Your
Kidde Extinguisher
Follow instructions shown on the front
label of your fire extinguisher.
After the fire is out and cooktop is cooled,
clean up dry chemical powder.
Special purpose kitchen range fire extin-
guishers are recommended only for cook-
ing oil fires contained in cooking vessels
such as pots, skillets and griddles. Use the
correct type ABC or BC fire extinguishers
for other common types of fire.
WARNING: Special use residential kitchen
range fire extinguishers are not suitable
for applications requiring a Class K com-
mercial sized fire extinguisher.
CAUTION: The agent contained in this
extinguisher is not toxic, but as with any
exposures to nuisance dusts, may cause
some temporary irritation. Avoid inhal-
ing the dry chemical agent. In case of
contact, flush affected area with clean,
cool water. If irritation persists, contact a
physician immediately. Chemical name of
agent is printed on extinguisher label.

contact your local fire department or the
U.S. Coast Guard. Additional informa-
tion on extinguishers can be found in
the National Fire Protection Association
(NFPA) pamphlet No. 10, “Portable Fire
Extinguishers.”
Mounting Your Extinguisher
Your extinguisher should be mounted
so that it is easy to reach and not hidden
or obstructed.
Fasten the bracket that was supplied
with your fire extinguisher securely to
a wall stud. Install and secure fire extin-
guisher properly into hanger.

Directions for Use:
Super heated cooking media containing
animal or vegetable fats and oils has the
unique ability to retain heat and re-flash
after extinguishment. The dry chemical
formulation contained within this fire
extinguisher has the ability to not only
extinguish these fires, but also mix with the
hot combustible cooking media and form
a blanket to inhibit potential re-flash
when properly applied.
• Pull and remove locking tab.
• Start 5ft back from stove top fire.
• Aim extinguisher into cooking vessel.
• Squeeze and fully depress operating
lever to initiate extinguishing agent
discharge (approximate total dis-
charge time 8 to 12 seconds).
• Empty the entire contents of the extin-
guisher. Sweep only as necessary to
cover the inside of the cooking vessel.
• IMMEDIATELY AFTER DISCHARGING
EXTINGUISHER, TURN OFF APPLIANCE
TO REMOVE SOURCE OF HEAT.
• Once the extinguisher is empty, evac-
uate the home and ensure the fire
department has been called.
• Never attempt to carry, move or
disturb the extinguishing agent layer
until it has properly cooled. Cooking
media can sometimes retain enough
heat to reignite for up to 15 minutes.

Cómo utilizar su Extintor Kidde
Siga las instrucciones indicadas en la
etiqueta frontal de su extintor.
Después de extinguir el fuego y que el
tope de la cocina se enfríe, limpie con un
polvo químico seco.
Los extintores especiales para cocinas se
recomiendan únicamente para llamas
causadas por aceites de cocinar contenidos
en los recipientes de cocinar, tales como
las ollas, sartenes y planchas. Utilice el tipo
correcto de extintores ABC o BC para los
demás tipos comunes de incendios.
ADVERTENCIA: Los extintores especiales
para cocinas de uso residencial no son
apropiados para aplicaciones que requi-
eran un extintor comercial Clase K.
PRECAUCIÓN: El agente contenido en
este extintor no es tóxico, pero al igual
que ocurre con cualquier exposición a
polvos inertes, puede causar alguna irri-
tación temporal. Evite inhalar el agente
químico seco. En caso de contacto,
enjuague el área afectada con agua lim-
pia y fresca. Si la irritación persiste, comu-
níquese con un médico inmediatamente.
El nombre del agente químico está
impreso en la etiqueta del extintor.

Montaje de su extintor
Su extintor debe montarse de manera
que sea fácil alcanzarlo y no debe estar
oculto ni tener obstrucciones.
Fije el soporte que se proporciona con su
extintor de manera segura en un mon-
tante de pared. Instale y fije el extintor
de manera adecuada en el gancho.
Instrucciones de uso:
Los elementos para cocinar súper calientes
que contengan aceites y grasas animales
o vegetales tienen la capacidad única de
retener el calor y de volverse a encender
después de extinguir la llama. La fórmula
química seca contenida en este extintor
tiene la capacidad no sólo de extinguir
las llamas, sino también de mezclarse con
el elemento de cocinar del combustible
caliente y formar una capa para inhibir
el potencial de que se vuelva a encender,
cuando se aplica de manera apropiada.
• Hale y remueva la lengüeta de bloqueo.
• Comience a 5 pies del fuego de la cocina.
• Apunte el extintor al recipiente de cocina.
• Apriete y presione completamente
la palanca de operación para iniciar la
descarga del agente extintor (el tiempo
total de descarga aproximado es de 8 a
12 segundos).
• Vacíe el contenido completo del extin-
tor. Esparza sólo lo necesario para cubrir
la parte interna del recipiente de cocinar.
• INMEDIATAMENTE DESPUÉS DE
DESCARGAR EL EXTINTOR, APAGUE EL
ARTEFACTO PARA ELIMINAR LA FUENTE
DE CALOR.
• Una vez que el extintor está vacío, salga
de la vivienda y asegúrese de haber lla-
mado al departamento de bomberos.
• Nunca intente transportar, mover o
alterar la capa del agente extintor hasta
que se haya enfriado apropiadamente.
Algunas veces, los elementos para cocinar
pueden retener el calor suficiente para
volverse a encender por hasta 15 minutos.
