SPECIFICATIONS FOR KIDSTUFF PLAYSYSTEMS COMPONENTS

CRAWL TUNNEL: All plastic components of rotationally-molded, UV-stabilized
HDPE plastic (nom. wall thickness of 1/4"). Two or more straight or curved 24”
flanged tubes are connected together to form tunnel. When accessed from play
structures each end of tunnel is typically connected to and supported by a double-
walled, rotationally-molded, UV-stabilized HDPE plastic panel (nom. nominal wall
thickness of 1/4"). In most applications in which tunnels are free-standing on one or
both ends, flanges are extended for additional rigidity and these end panels are not
used. Free end of tunnel is supported with 1.31” OD “saddle” welded to 1.90” OD
tubing legs.
FIRE ENGINE PANEL: Computer-generated, bi-color, UV-stabilized HDPE plastic
panel, 3/4" thick, creates a striking depiction of a fire engine in a brilliant red. Back
of panel features a dashboard with a virtually unbreakable HDPE plastic wheel, 13”
diam. Wheel attaches with 1/2” d. stainless steel button-head bolt and nylon
locknut. May be used on or under decks, or as a free-standing play event.
NUMBER WALL or PANEL: Spinning cylinders are rotationally-molded, UV-
stabilized, HDPE with molded-in number graphics. Pipe frame is 1.16” OD tubing.
Steel deck systems and platforms above 48” have blocks framed by a 3/4” HDPE
computer-generated panel. May be used on or under decks, or as a free-standing
play event.
ROOF: (for steel decks) Double-walled rotational-molded, UV- stabilized HDPE
with a nominal wall thickness of 1/4". Comes in two styles, pyramid or gable
designs. Gable roofs have arch cut-outs for added head room. Both styles attach to
special aluminum support brackets designed to simplify leveling and adjustment.
Secured with stainless steel fasteners.
POSTS: 3-1/2" OD galvanized high-strength steel tubing 13 gauge; yield strength:
45,000 psi (min); tensile strength: 48,000 psi (min). Posts are cut to length before
powder-coating. Posts meet or exceed all applicable ASTM standards. Some
applications require 11 ga. or 8 ga. posts—these are noted in specifications. 5” OD
posts as above, but 11 ga. rather than 13 ga.
POST CAP FOR 3-1/2" OD POST: Shatter-proof caps are injection-molded of
polypropylene. Unique "one-way" design provides a tight fit while preventing removal.
All play equipment that children play on shall be in compliance with the current
ASTM F-1487 Standard, and with the current Consumer Product Safety
Commission Guidelines, with evidence provided with the bid. The play equipment
manufacturer shall be ISO 9001-2008 certified.
