PRODUCT INFORMATION
KILZ MAX Interior Water-Base Primer is a primer, sealer, stain and odor blocker developed with new technology that’s
formulated to perform like oil-and shellac-based products. It tackles tough stains including medium to heavy water damage,
rust, smoke, nicotine, grease, tannin, ink, pencil, felt marker, pet stains and more. KILZ MAX Primer also seals pet and smoke
odors. Topcoat with latex or oil-based paint.
RECOMMENDED USES:
Use on properly prepared interior surfaces, such as:
• Concrete • Concrete Block/CMU • Drywall/Gypsum Board
• Plaster • Wood • Brick
• Non-Ferrous Metals • Suboor

texture, porosity and application method. Does not include
the loss of material from spraying.
APPLICATION:
Brush: Nylon / Polyester Blend
Roller: 3/8" - 1/2" nap
Airless Spray: Fluid pressure of 2,500 - 3,200 psi
Tip: .015" - .021"
Filter: 60 mesh
Thinning: Not recommended. Product is formulated for use
at package consistency only.
Dry Time: @ 77°F, 50% RH
Longer dry time required in cooler temperatures and in
higher humidity.
To Touch: 30 minutes
To Recoat: 1 hour
SURFACE PREPARATION:
The surface must be clean, free of dust, grease, wax, peeling
paint, mold, mildew and wallpaper paste. If washing is
necessary, use a non-soapy detergent or a TSP substitute.
Rinse well and allow to dry.
Peeling or Checked Paint: Scrape o loose paint and sand
to a smooth surface. Sanding or removal of paint containing
lead is hazardous.
Glossy Surfaces: For maximum adhesion, scu sand the
surface thoroughly before priming.
Masonry, Brick, Stucco and Plaster: KILZ MAX Interior
Water-Base Primer may be used on clean, dry, aged
masonry surfaces. New masonry must be allowed to cure
(dry) at least 30 days before applying KILZ MAX Interior
Water-Base Primer.
Fire Restoration: It is critical to clean smoke damaged
surfaces thoroughly before priming.
WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you
may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. Contact the National
Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD or visit
www.epa.gov/lead.
CLEAN UP:
Clean all tools and equipment with clean water. For disposal
of empty containers and unused product, contact your
household refuse collection service.
CAUTIONS/LIMITATIONS:
• IMPORTANT! Do not open can without reading instructions.
• Do not use when air and surface temperatures are below
50°F or above 90°F.
• Shelf life under normal conditions is two years unopened.
• KILZ MAX Primer has a unique formula and should never be
intermixed with other products.
• Do not use on oors or horizontal surfaces prone
to foot trac.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Warning! Causes eye and skin irritation. Harmful if
swallowed. Wear protective clothing, gloves, eye, and face
protection. Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using this
product. Take o contaminated clothing and wash it before
reuse. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
Collect spillage and avoid release to the environment.
Dispose of unused contents, container and other
contaminated wastes in accordance with local, state,
federal and provincial regulations.
First aid: If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several
minutes and remove contacts if present and easy to do.
Continue rinsing and get medical attention if eye irritation
persists. If on skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water.
If swallowed: Rinse mouth and get medical attention
if you feel unwell.
