FEATURES AND COMPATIBILITY Overview Kinesis JSB USB footswitches are designed to emulate joystick buttom operations using generic drivers provided by the operating system. In general, they will operate on any computer with an active USB port. Up to four pedals are provided to perform joystick buttons 1-4. If jacks are provided, only a Kinesis-supplied device (foot pedal or hand trigger) may be connected.
INSTALLATION Connecting to your computer The Kinesis JSB™ Foot Switch may be connected to any USB port. The first time this is done, it is best to connect it after your computer has booted up and is logged in (if you have a network) so that you can see the “new device detected” message. Drivers (Windows 2000 through Windows 7) The device installs itself automatically as a generic HID device on all recent versions of Windows without requiring user-supplied drivers.
TROUBLESHOOTING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT Status lights If a problem is suspected, the first place to check is the status lights. If the green LED displays a steady light, the unit is operating normally. If there is no LED illuminated the unit is not powered. If the green LED is flashing, or if the red LED is illuminated continuously, the unit is not ready and requires attention.
