INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
for KING Contractor Utility Heater “KCH Series”
WARNING
11. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any
ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an
electric shock or fi re, or damage the heater.
12. To prevent a possible fi re, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like
a bed, where openings may become blocked.
13. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside.
Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or
ammable liquids are used or stored.
14- Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any
other use not recommended by the manufacturer may
cause fi re, electric shock, or injury to persons.
15. Avoid the use of extension cord because the extension
cord may overheat and cause a risk of fi re. However, if
you have to use an extension cord, the cord shall be
No. 8 AWG minimum size and rated for not less than 30 amps.
16, This heater may include a visual alarm to warn that parts
of the heater are gettting excessively hot. If the alarm fl ashes,
immediately turn the heater off and inspect for any objets on
or adjacent to the heater that may cause high temperatures.
DO NOT OPERATE THE HEATER WITH THE ALARM
FLASHING.
17. This heater is not approved for use in corrosive
atmospheres such as marine, green house or chemical
storage areas.

USER INSTRUCTIONS
Read Carefully - These instructions contain necessary information
for the proper installation, use and effi cient operation of the heater.
Carefully read these instructions before installation, operation
of the heater. Failure to adhere to the instructions could result
in re, electric shock, serious personal injury, death or porperty
damage. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS and review frequently
for continuing safe operation and instruction of future users, if
necessary.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always
be followed to reduce the risk of fi re, electrical shock
and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this heater.
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let
bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use the handle when
moving this heater. Keep combustible materials, such as
furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains
at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep
them away from the sides and rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used
by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater
is left operating and unattended.
4. Always unplug heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug
or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped
or damaged in any manner. Return heater to authorized
service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical
adjustment, or repair.
6. Do not use outdoors.
7. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry
areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater
where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with
throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord
away from traffi c area and where it will not be tripped over.
9. To disconnect heater, turn thermostat to off, then remove
plug from outlet.
10. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.
CAUTION
- Not for residential use in USA.
- To prevent possible overheating - or damage due to overheating
- keep at least 3 ft. (0.9 m) clearance in front of heater.
- Respect minimum clearance installation as specifi ed in
these instructions.
- This heater is for use on 240 volts. The cord has a plug as
shown in Figure 1. No adapter is available for this blade
confi guration, and none should be used. The type of outlet is
a 240 volt grounding outlet. When properly installed,
it provides a ground connection through the cord to the heater
to protect the operator from electric shock.

LOCATE HEATERS PROPERLY
For model KCH-B, wall and ceiling structures and anchoring
provisions must be of suffi cient strength to support the combined
weight of the heater and mounting bracket 11 lbs (5 kg).
FLOOR MOUNTING:
Place heater on fl oor, plug into proper wall outlet and adjust heater
to direct airfl ow.
WALL MOUNTING: (Model KCH-B only)
- Heater may be mounted for horizontal air discharge only.
- Maximum mounting height:
Horizontal air fl ow – 8 ft. (2.44 m).
- Mimimum clearance:
3 1/2 in. (90 mm) from the wall
3 ft. (0.9 m) from the front of the heater.
6 in. (150 mm) from the ceiling:
- Wall must be able to support the weight
of the heater 11 lbs (5 kg).
- Fix the bracket to the wall structural members with
the supply screws.
- Plug into proper wall outlet.
CEILING MOUNTING: (Model KCH-B only)
- Heater may be mounted for horizontal air discharge only.
- Maximum mounting height:
Horizontal air fl ow – 8 ft. (2.44 m).

SERVICE
- The heater motor is permanently lubricated.
- Occasional cleaning of the inlet grille will prevent clogging.
Use a vacuum with a brush attachment.
- Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized
service representative.
WARR AN TY
KING ELECTRICAL MFG. CO. warrants the component parts
of its products against defects in material and workmanship for a
one (1) year period following the date of purchase, under normal
use and service, when proof of purchase of such is provided to the
manufacturer. The obligation of KING ELECTRICAL MFG. CO.,
under the terms of this warranty, will be to supply a new unit and
this omits the manufacturer to bear the installation costs or other
secondary charges linked to replacing the unit or the component
part(s).

HEATER OPERATION
1. Plug in heater.
2. Rotate thermostat knob full clockwise. The fan will
start and the element will heat.
3. When the desired temperature is reached, turn the
thermostat counter-clockwise slowly till the fan stop.
To set the room temperature turn slowly the thermostat
clockwise or counter-clockwise.
