INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS Tools and Parts Gather the required tools and parts before starting installation. Read and follow the instructions provided with any tools listed here. Tools needed ■ Drill ■ 1¹⁄₄" (3.2 cm) drill bit ■ ¹⁄₈" (3.
For the most efficient and quiet operation: ■ Use no more than three 90° elbows. Installation Clearances C B ■ Make sure there is a minimum of 24" (61 cm) of straight vent between the elbows if more than 1 elbow is used. ■ Do not install 2 elbows together. ■ Use clamps to seal all joints in the vent system. ■ The vent system must have a damper. If roof or wall cap has a damper, do not use damper supplied with the range hood. ■ Use caulking to seal exterior wall or roof opening around the cap.

Electrical Requirements Observe all governing codes and ordinances. Ensure that the electrical installation is adequate and in conformance with National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70 (latest edition), or CSA Standards C22.1-94, Canadian Electrical Code, Part 1 and C22.2 No. 0-M91 (latest edition) and all local codes and ordinances. If codes permit and a separate ground wire is used, it is recommended that a qualified electrician determine that the ground path is adequate.
3. To wire through wall: Mark a line distance “A” from the left of the centerline on the wall. Mark the point on this line that is 1" (2.5 cm) from the bottom of the cabinet. Drill a 1¹⁄₄" (3.2 cm) diameter hole through the rear wall at this point. To make a circular vent opening on the underside of the cabinet top: 1. Mark a centerline on the underside of the top of cabinet. 2. Mark a line 3³⁄₄" (9.5 cm) from the back wall on the underside of the top of cabinet. 3.
Install Range Hood 1. Remove the grease filters. See the “Range Hood Care” section. 2. Remove foam shipping pad from behind the blower motor. 3. Lift the range hood up under cabinet and determine final location by centering beneath cabinet. Mark on the underside of cabinet the location of the 4 keyhole mounting slots on the range hood. Set range hood aside on a covered surface. NOTE: If the wall cap is directly behind the vent connector, the dampers in the connector and wall cap must not interfere.
7. Remove the rear insulation panel and set it aside. 8. Using a T20 Torx adapter, remove the 4 screws holding the blower motor in place. Push up on the blower motor to disengage the tabs from range hood cavity back. Remove the blower motor and set it aside. 10. RANGE HOOD USE The range hood is designed to remove smoke, cooking vapors and odors from the cooktop area. For best results, start the hood before cooking and allow it to operate several minutes after the cooking is complete to clear all smoke and odors from the kitchen. The hood controls are located on the center of the range hood.
Power Decrease/Off ■ Timed Fan Off This button is used to turn the fan Off or to decrease the fan speed. The control has a “Timed Fan Off” feature. When activated, it automatically turns the blower fan off after 10 minutes. ■ Press and hold the Timer button for 5 seconds to activate. The fan icon will flash and 10:00 (10 minutes) will show in the display. The time will start counting down after 3 seconds.

EXIGENCES D’INSTALLATION Outillage et pièces Rassembler les outils et pièces nécessaires avant d’entreprendre l’installation. Lire et observer les instructions fournies avec chacun des outils de la liste ci-dessous. Pour placards avec cavité au fond : ■ 2 tringles d’appui de largeur 2" (5,1 cm). Longueur et épaisseur selon les dimensions de l'encastrement. ■ 4 vis à bois à tête plate ou vis à métaux avec rondelles et écrous, pour la fixation des tringles d’appui.
Distances de dégagement à respecter C ■ Ne pas installer 2 coudes successifs. ■ Au niveau de chaque jointure du circuit d'évacuation, assurer l'étanchéité avec les brides de serrage. ■ Le circuit d’évacuation doit comporter un clapet anti-reflux. Si la bouche de décharge murale ou par le toit comporte un clapet, ne pas utiliser le clapet fourni avec la hotte de cuisinière.

Spécifications électriques Observer les dispositions de tous les codes et règlements en vigueur. S'assurer que l’installation électrique est correcte et qu'elle satisfait aux exigences de la plus récente édition de la norme National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, ou de la norme CSA C22. 1-94, Code canadien de l’électricité, partie 1 et C22.2 n° 0-M91 (dernière édition) et de tous les codes et règlements en vigueur.
2. Câblage à travers le sommet du placard : Tracer une ligne de distance “A” à gauche de l’axe central, sur la face inférieure du placard. Sur cette ligne, marquer le point situé à 2" (5,1 cm) du mur arrière. Percer en ce point un trou de 1¼" (3,2 cm) de diamètre à travers le placard.
Installation sans décharge à l’extérieur (recyclage) à travers le soffite/placard Installation du conduit d’évacuation 1. Relever les mesures appropriées et tracer l'axe central du placard jusqu'au soffite situé au-dessus. Mesurer la distance entre le bas du placard et l'axe central, au point où le conduit d'évacuation ressort du soffite. Indiquer l'emplacement et utiliser une scie sauteuse ou une scie à guichet pour découper un trou de 5¾" (14,6 cm) pour le cache-conduit.
3. Placer la hotte sur le dos. 4. À d'un tournevis et d'un embout Torx T10, retirer les 8 vis qui maintiennent en place le panneau inférieur. Enlever le panneau inférieur et le mettre de côté. 8. À l'aide d'un tournevis et d'un embout Torx T20, retirer les 4 vis qui maintiennent en place le moteur du ventilateur. Pousser le moteur du ventilateur vers le haut pour dégager les pattes de montage de l'arrière de la cavité de la hotte. Retirer le moteur du ventilateur et le mettre de côté.
10. Installer l'ensemble du moteur du ventilateur dans la hotte, et verrouiller à l'aide des 4 vis fournies avec l'accessoire support de montage arrière du moteur. Installations avec l'ensemble du cordon d’alimentation en option Pour les installations avec l'ensemble du cordon d'alimentation facultatif, suivre les instructions fournies avec l'ensemble du cordon d'alimentation. Voir la section “Assistance ou service” pour plus d’informations sur le processus de commande.
Capteur de chaleur Vitesse du ventilateur Le module de commande est équipé d'un capteur de chaleur qui met le ventilateur en marche à la vitesse maximale si la température autour de la zone du module de commande est excessive. ■ Que le ventilateur soit activé ou non, il est automatiquement réglé à la vitesse maximale. “Auto” apparaît sur l'affichage pour indiquer que le capteur de chaleur a détecté un niveau de chaleur excessif.
ENTRETIEN DE LA HOTTE Nettoyage IMPORTANT : Nettoyer fréquemment la hotte et les filtres à graisse en suivant les instructions suivantes. Réinstaller les filtres à graisse avant de faire fonctionner la hotte. Surfaces externes : Afin d'éviter d'endommager la surface externe, ne pas utiliser de tampons en laine d'acier ou de tampons à récurer savonneux. Toujours essuyer pour éviter de laisser des traces d'eau. Méthode de nettoyage : ■ Savon détergent liquide et eau, ou nettoyant tout usage.
