TOASTER SAFETY T IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: 1. Read all instructions. 2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. 3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or Toaster in water or other liquid. 4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 5. Unplug Toaster from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
11. To disconnect, turn any control to “OFF,” then remove plug from outlet. 12. Do not use Toaster for other than intended use. 13. Oversize foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted in Toaster as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock. 14. A fire may occur if Toaster is covered with or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls and the like, when in operation. 15. Do not attempt to dislodge food when Toaster is plugged in.

USING THE TOASTER Before first use Before using your Toaster, check the extra-wide slots and remove any packing or printed material that might have fallen inside during shipping or handling. To avoid damage to the Toaster, do not probe inside the Toaster slots with any metal objects. 1 Shorten cord, if necessary, by wrapping cord under the base. The toaster’s feet are tall enough to allow the cord to exit from under any side of the toaster. 2 Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
USING THE TOASTER S Simple start-to-finish toasting Simple start-to-finish toasting: Select any, or all, of the three special toasting functions (defrost, bagel, or keep warm), and the Toaster will automatically move from one step to the next without any additional effort on your part. Toasting 1 Select your desired shade by turning the shade control knob to the right for darker toasting or to the left for lighter toasting.
SPECIAL TOASTING FUNCTIONS Your Toaster features a special setting for bagels, ensuring optimal heating time for the best results. The heating elements will adjust to nicely toast the inside of a cut bagel without burning the outside surface. 1 Insert bagels with the cut side facing in as shown. 3 Press the BAGEL button. The Bagel indicator light will glow. If Keep Warm isn’t selected, the bagel(s) will rise automatically at the end of the cycle and the Toaster will turn off.
SPECIAL TOASTING FUNCTIONS S Defrosting The Defrost function adds additional time to the toasting cycle to defrost frozen items before toasting them. 1 Insert bread or other food to be toasted into the slot(s). 2 With the shade control knob set to your desired shade, press down on the lift lever to start the toasting cycle. TIP: The Defrost function can be used at the same time as the Bagel and Keep Warm functions. 3 Press the DEFROST button. The Defrost indicator light will glow.
SPECIAL TOASTING FUNCTIONS Keep Warm English The Keep Warm function holds toast in low, gentle heat for 3 minutes after toasting. 1 Insert bread or other food to be toasted into the slot(s). 2 With the shade control knob set to your desired shade, press down on the lift lever to start the toasting cycle. 3 Press the KEEP WARM button. The Keep Warm indicator light will blink slowly.
SPECIAL TOASTING FUNCTIONS C Lift & See With the Lift & See feature, you can check toasting progress without stopping the toasting cycle. 1 Raise the lift lever any time during the toasting cycle to view the toast’s progress. 2 Press down on lift lever to lower the toast back into the toaster. TIP: For smaller items, lift up on the lift lever to raise toast above the top of the Toaster. CARE AND CLEANING IMPORTANT: The tray will be hot immediately following a toasting cycle.
English CARE AND CLEANING 3 Press “PUSH” (located in center of the crumb tray) so that it opens slightly, then slide it out of the Toaster. Shake the crumbs into a waste container. For consistent browning results, empty the crumb tray after each use. Crumb tray is hand-wash only. 4 Return crumb tray to Toaster. Press in on the center of the crumb tray until it clicks into position. Do not use the Toaster without the crumb tray fully in place.

FONCTIONS SPÉCIALES DE GRILLAGE C F Faire griller des bagels Le grille-pain comporte un réglage spécial pour le brunissement des bagels, assurant ainsi une durée de chauffage optimale pour de meilleurs résultats. Les éléments de chauffage s’ajustent pour faire griller l’intérieur d’un bagel coupé en deux sans toutefois brûler la surface extérieure. 1 Insérer les bagels en orientant les faces tranchées vers l’intérieur tel qu’illustré. 3 Appuyer sur le bouton BAGEL.

Faire tomber les miettes dans un contenant à déchets. Pour des résultats de brunissage uniforme, vider le ramasse-miettes après chaque utilisation. Le ramasse-miettes doit être lavé à la main seulement. C G 4 Replacer le ramasse-miettes dans le grille-pain. Appuyer sur le centre du ramasse-miettes jusqu’à ce qu’il s’enclenche.

CMD DE USO + SHIFT SU TOSTADOR CLICK TO CHANGE COPY Su tostador KitchenAid® ofrece un uso sencillo y un control excepcional. Con un tostado simple de principio a fin, el tostador descongela automáticamente, tuesta pan o roscas, y los mantiene calientes antes de servir. Antes del primer uso 1 Acorte el cable si es necesario, envolviéndolo debajo de la base. Inserte las roscas con los lados cortados mirando hacia dentro, como se muestra. 3 Presione el botón BAGEL (Rosca). Se encenderá la luz indicadora de roscas.
FUNCIONES ESPECIALES DE TOSTADO F Descongelación La función para descongelar agrega tiempo adicional al ciclo de tostado para descongelar los alimentos congelados antes de tostarlos. 1 Inserte el pan u otro alimento a ser tostado en las ranuras. 2 Con la perilla de control de tostado fijada en el nivel deseado, presiónela hacia abajo para comenzar el ciclo de tostado. CONSEJO: La función Defrost (Descongelar) se puede utilizar al mismo tiempo que la función para roscas y mantener caliente.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA Presione el botón “PUSH” (Presionar), ubicado en el centro de la bandeja para migajas, de manera que se abra ligeramente, y deslícela para sacarla del tostador. Sacuda las migas en un recipiente para desechos. Para obtener resultados constantes de dorado, vacíe la bandeja para migajas después de cada uso. La bandeja para migajas solo se puede lavar a mano. 4 Vuelva a colocar la bandeja para migajas en el tostador.
