The Klark Teknik DM8500 unit is housed in a 19" 1U rack-mount chassis suitable for use in professional installed-sound applications. All connectors are on the rear of the unit, and all analogue audio inputs and outputs use balanced Euroblock connectors.

XLR connector shells should be of metal construction so that they provide a screen when connected and, where appropriate, they should have Pin 1 connected to the cable screen.
