Intended Use The P12AFi 120 Volt, 20 Amp Plasma Cutter features a built-in compressor for total portability and low system cost. You'll never have gas pressure settings, flame tuning, metal preheating, gas cylinders, or refills to worry about. It has an inverter design that is lightweight and efficient. The torch with long life nozzle and electrodes is more powerful, comfortable, and efficient. It’s ideal for cutting mild steel up to 3/16in. thick using standard household current.
⚠WARNING WORK AREA SAFETY • Inspect the work area before each use. Keep work area clean, dry, free of clutter, and well-lit. Cluttered, wet, or dark work areas can result in injury. Using the product in confined work areas may put you dangerously close to cutting tools and rotating parts. • Do not use the product where there is a risk of causing a fire or an explosion; e.g., in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
Accessories that may be suitable for one product may create a risk of injury when used with another tool. Never use an accessory that has a lower operating speed or operating pressure than the tool itself. • Keep guards in place and in working order. Never operate the product without the guards in place. General Safety Warnings ⚠WARNING • Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in serious injury.
⚠WARNING Your Plasma Cutter’s Condition • Check that the ground cable, power cord, and torch to be sure the insulation is not damaged. Always replace or repair damaged components before using the plasma cutter. • Check all components to ensure they are clean and in good operating condition before use. ⚠CAUTION PLASMA CUTTER USE AND CARE Do not operate the plasma cutter if the torch or ground cables are wet. Do not immerse them in water.
• Do not touch the torch and the ground or grounded work piece at the same time. • Do not use a plasma cutter to thaw frozen pipes. ⚠WARNING Fumes and Gases • Do not use plasma cutter in the presence of gasoline, diesel, propane, or other flammable liquids. Sparks created from the cutter may ignite liquids or fumes, causing an explosion and serious injury or death. • Fumes emitted from the plasma cutting process displace clean air and can result in injury or death.
• Take precautions to ensure that flying sparks do not cause fires or explosions in hidden areas, cracks or areas you cannot see. • Keep a fire extinguisher close in the case of fire. • Wear garments that are oil-free with no pockets or cuffs that will collect sparks. • Do not have on your person any items that are combustible, such as lighters or matches.
• Do not wrap cable around your body while plasma cutting. • Wrap plasma torch cable and ground cable together whenever possible. • Keep plasma torch and ground cables on the same side of your body. ⚠WARNING Shielding Gas Cylinders Can Explode High pressure cylinders can explode if damaged, so treat them carefully. • Never expose cylinders to high heat, sparks, open flames, mechanical shocks or arcs. • Do not touch cylinder with torch. • Do not cut on the cylinder.
down, grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user, reducing the risk of electric shock. (See Figure A.) The grounding prong in the plug is connected through the green wire inside the cord to the grounding system in the tool. The green wire in the cord must be the only wire connected to the tool’s grounding system and must never be attached to an electrically live terminal.

a. Make sure the power switch is OFF. b. Take an electrode and screw-on the torch head. c. Screw on the diffuser, nozzle, and nozzle cover. Operating Instructions ⚠WARNING High voltage danger from power source! • Consult a qualified electrician for proper installation of receptacle at the power source. This plasma cutter must be grounded while in use to protect the operator from electrical shock. If you are not sure if your outlet is properly grounded, have it checked by a qualified electrician.
Scope of Application It is used for the cutting of metal plates such as steel plates, aluminum plates, and stainless steel plates. Suitable Working Environment and Working Conditions • Working temperature:-10℃~+40℃; • Storage and transportation environment temperature:-25℃~+55℃; • Air humidity:40℃≤50%;20℃≤90% Set Up 1. Check the plasma cutter to see if it has been connected correctly and is in good working condition. 2. Turn on the cutter’s power switch to observe and check for normal operation.
cutting debris falls to the cement floor. 2. Attach the work piece and connect the earth cable with the work piece. 3. Place the cutting nozzle onto the work piece, lift the torch up slightly from the work piece, and turn on the switch to cut. Nozzle and Electrode Replacement 1. Make sure the power switch is OFF. 2. Twist-off the nozzle cover. Screw out the nozzle, diffuser, and electrode. 3. Take a new replacement electrode and twist-on the torch head. 4.
3. Move the cutting head more slowly for thicker and harder metals, and more quickly for thin or soft metals. Keep the cutting head moving while cutting. 4. Keep the torch’s nozzle vertical against the work piece, and watch to be sure the arc is moving along the cutting line. 5. For thin materials, reduce the amperage setting to get the best cutting quality, to reduce excessive warping, and to extend the life of the electrode and nozzle. 6. Do not rapidly switch the torch trigger on and off.
Maintain the plasma cutter by adopting a program of conscientious repair and maintenance in accordance with the following recommended procedures. It is recommended that the general condition of any tool be examined before it is used. Keep your tool in good repair. Keep all cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Failure Weak arc strength Possible Cause Internal fuse blown Have a qualified technician check/replace. Incorrect line voltage Check the line voltage and, if insufficient, have a licensed electrician remedy the situation. Improper ground connection Make certain that the work piece is contacted properly by the earth clamp and that the work piece is properly cleaned near the earth clamp and the welding location.
