OVERVIEW I_:::_,_, \ VUE D'ENSEMBLE BASIC AIR COMPRESSOR Oilless air compressors require any oil. COMPONENTS I are factory lubricated for life and do not The basic components of the air compressor are the electric motor, pump, pressure switch, and tank. The electric motor (see A - not visable) powers the pump. The electric motor is equipped with an overload protector and an automatic reset. If the motor becomes overheated, the overload protector wilt shut it down to prevent damage to the motor.
1 1. ASSEMBLY / ASSEMBLAGE ASSEMBLING THE COMPRESSOR I Unpack the air compressor. Inspect the unit for damage. If the unit has been damaged in transit, contact the carrier and complete a damage claim. Do this immediately because there are time limitations to damage claims. The carton should contain: • air compressor • handle • operator and parts manuals 2.
COMPRESSOR COMPRESSOR CONTROLS / COMMANDES DU COMPRESSEUR CONTROLES DEL COMPRESOR CONTROLS I I ON/OFF Switch (see A) This switch turns on the compressor. It is operated manually, but when in the ON position, it allows the compressor to start up or shut down automatically, without warning, upon air demand. ALWAYS set this switch to OFF when the compressor is not being used, and before unplugging the compressor. Manometro del tanque (vea C) Este man6metro mide ta presi6n del aire almacenado en el tanque.
l ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS SPieCIFICATIONS DE L'ALIMENTATION ieLECTRIQUE REQUERIMIENTOS DE ALIMENTACION ELieCTRICA ELECTRICAL WIRING Refer to the air compressor's serial label for the unit's voltage and amperage requirements. EXTENS,ON CORDS I I NOTE: Avoid use of extension cords. For optimum performance, plug the compressor power cord directly into a grounded wall socket. Do not use an extension cord unless absolutely necessary.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS \ MODE D'EMPLOI DAI LY STARTU P 1. 2. 3. \ INSTRUCCIONES OPERATIVAS I Turn the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position (see B). Close the tank petcock (see D). Turn in the clockwise direction. Plug in the power cord. _r_'_High temperatures are generated by the electric motor and the pump. To prevent burns or other injuries, DO NOT touch the compressor while it is running. Allow it to cool before handling or servicing. Keep children away from the compressor at all times.
INSTRUCCIONES ARRANQUE 1, 2. 3, OPERATIVAS I DIARIO Coloque el interruptor ON/OFF en la posici6n OFF (vea B).
I MAINTENANCE \ ENTRETIEN MAINTENANCE I _To avoid personal injury, always shut off and unplug the compressor and relieve all air pressure from the system before performing any service on the air compressor. I ZIL _Condensation wilt accumulate in the tank. To prevent corrosion of the tank from the inside, this moisture must be drained at the end of every workday. Be sure to wear protective eyewear. Relieve the air pressure in the system and open the petcock on the bottom of the tank (see C).
I MAINTENANCE \ ENTRETIEN CHECKING THE RELIEF VALVE Pull the relief valve daily to ensure that it is operating properly and to clear the valve of any possible obstructions. TESTING FOR LEAKS I \ MANTENIMIENTO I I REVISION DE LA VALVULA DE ALIVIO Tire de la valvula de alivio todos los dias para asegurarse de que este operando correctamente y para eliminar cualquier obstrucci6n posible de la misma. I I DETECCION DE FUGAS I Compruebe que todas tas conexiones esten ajustadas.
I _E,_,,_, TROUBLESHOOTING Note: Troubleshooting CHART I problems may have similar causes and solutions, PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION Low pressure or not Tank petcock is open Close petcock enough air or Compressor stop Fittings Leak Check fittings with soapy water.
