PREPARATION Know Your Random Orbit Sander This sander can be used for the purpose listed: sanding wood and wood product surface. Before attempting to use the sander, familiarize yourself with all of its operating features and safety requirements. WARNING • Do not allow familiarity with the tool to cause carelessness. Remember that one careless moment is enough to cause severe injury. Before attempting to use any tool, be sure to become familiar with all of the operating features and safety instructions.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 2. Turning the Sander ON/OFF a. To turn the sander ON, depress the I button on the On/Off switch (A). b. To turn the sander OFF, depress the O button. 3. Variable-Speed Dial Adjust the sanding speed with the variable-speed dial (B). 2 OFF ON 3 B Turn the dial to any position between “1” for the lowest speed and “6” for the highest speed. WARNING • Never change the speed while the tool is running.

Attaching the Sander To a Vacuum The sander can be connected to a 2-1/4 in. or 1-1/4 in. diameter vacuum hose to help keep the work area clean. 5a E To install a 2-1/4 in. vacuum hose a. Remove the battery from the tool. b. Turn the dust bag (F) counterclockwise to the UNLOCK position and remove it from the sander. c. Attach a 2-1/4 in. vacuum hose to the dustexhaust adaptor (E). To install a 1-1/4 in. vacuum hose a.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 7. General Sanding Operation 7 WARNING • Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool operation. If operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask. • Wear protective gloves. a. It is recommended to sand a test sample of the workpiece first to select the best suitable sandpaper and speed range. b. Contact the tool to the workpiece only after the tool has reached its full speed. Press the sander with the sandpaper set firmly against the workpiece.
TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING • Turn the switch to the “OFF” position, and remove battery from the tool before performing troubleshooting procedures. CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO Todas las tareas de mantenimiento deben estar a cargo únicamente de un técnico de servicio calificado. Limpieza Antes de limpiar o realizar cualquier mantenimiento, retire la batería de la herramienta. Para un uso seguro y adecuado, siempre mantenga limpias la herramienta y sus ranuras de ventilación. Siempre use un paño suave y seco solamente para limpiar la lijadora; nunca use detergente ni alcohol.
