PREPARATION Know Your Compact Router The fixed base router is designed to be used only for straight and grooved milling and the forming of edges in wood or similar materials. Before attempting to use the router, familiarize yourself with all of its operating features and safety requirements. WARNING： • Do not allow familiarity with the tool to cause carelessness. Remember that one careless moment is enough to cause severe injury.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING • ALWAYS remove the battery pack before making any adjustments or installing accessories. Failure to do so could result in accidental starting, which can cause serious personal injury. 1. To Attach Battery Pack a. Align the raised portion on the battery pack with the grooves on the bottom of the tool, then slide the battery pack onto the tool, as shown. b.

Installing/Remove the Cutter Bit Selecting a Cutter Bit (available separately) 3a This router comes with a 1/4 in. collet that accepts cutter bits with ¼-in. diameter shanks. WARNING • Do not use cutter bits that have a cutting diameter larger than 1-3/8”, because they will not fit through the sub-base opening, could cause damage to the sub-base and the motor, and could cause serious personal injury to the operator. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS To remove the cutter bit a. b. c. d. e. Move the ON/OFF switch (A) to “O” position to turn the tool off. Remove the battery. Open the motor clamp (D) to remove the fixed base (C). Set the router upside down on its top cap, with the collet pointing up. Press the spindle-lock button (G) to lock the spindle shaft. Place the open-end wrench (Q) on the collet/nut, turn the collet/nut counterclockwise with the wrench to loosen the collet, then remove the cutter bit. 4.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 5. LED Worklights The tool has 2 built-in worklights (I), located around the collet; these provide high visibility of the workpiece when cutting. These lights are always “on” when the tool is turned on. 6. Vacuum Adaptor The tool is equipped with a vacuum adaptor (K), which is sized to accept a 1-1/4 in. (3.2 cm) vacuum-hose adaptor (not included). 5 6 To attach the adaptor onto the fixed base (C), position and then secure it to the fixed base with the knob. L K 7.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 8. Variable-Speed Dial Adjust the routing speed with the variable-speed dial (B). 8 Turn the dial between “1” for the lowest speed and “6” for the highest speed. WARNING • Never change the speed while the tool is running. Failure to obey this caution could make you lose control of the tool and result in serious personal damage. B 9. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS d. Move the tool while keeping the edge guide (M) flush with the side of the workpiece. e. When the cut is complete, turn the motor “OFF” and allow the cutter bit to come to a complete stop before removing it from the workpiece. f. Remove the battery, place the tool on the worktable, and inspect the finished cut. 10a If the distance between the side of the workpiece and the cutting position is too wide for the edge guide, or if the side of the workpiece is not straight.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Circular Routing with the Edge Guide For circular work, assemble the edge guide (M) as shown. 10d Center hole The minimum and maximum radii of circles to be cut (distance between the center of circle and the center of bit) are 74 mm (2 15/16ʺ) ~ 224 mm (8-11/16ʺ), respectively. Align the center hole in the edge guide with the center of the circle to be cut. Drive a nail less than 6 mm (1/4ʺ) in diameter into the center hole to secure the edge guide.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS When routing or doing related work, the best finishes will result from setting up the cut carefully, selecting the proper cutting depth, knowing how the cutter bit reacts in the workpiece, and selecting the appropriate rate and direction of feed for the project. 12 Bit Rotation Direction of Feed for External Cuts The cutter bit rotates clockwise. This means that feeding the bit from left to right will cause the bit to pull the tool toward the workpiece.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Feeding too quickly Forcing the feed of the cutter bit forward too quickly slows the rotational speed of the cutter bit and the bit takes larger bites as it rotates, causing splintering and gouging of the workpiece. This forcing action can also cause the router motor to overheat. 12c Feeding too quickly The high speed of the cutter bit during a proper feeding operation (left to right) results in very little kickback under normal conditions.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE General WARNING • All maintenance should only be carried out by an authorized service organization. • When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. The use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause damage to the product. Cleaning WARNING • Before cleaning or performing any maintenance, remove the battery pack from the router. • Wear a mask and proper eye protection when you clean the tool. Keep all ventilation openings clean to prevent overheating of the motor.
TROUBLESHOOTING WARNING Place the switch to “OFF” position and remove the battery pack before performing troubleshooting procedures. PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION The tool does not work. Luces de trabajo LED La herramienta tiene 2 luces de trabajo integradas (I), que se encuentran alrededor de la boquilla de sujeción; estas brindan una alta visibilidad de la pieza de trabajo cuando realiza cortes. INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO Alimentación demasiado rápida Forzar la alimentación de la broca de corte hacia delante demasiado rápido disminuye la velocidad de rotación de esta y la broca realiza cortes más grandes mientras gira, lo que provoca astillado y daños en la pieza de trabajo. Esta acción de forzado también puede hacer que el motor de la rebajadora se sobrecaliente.
CUIDADO Y MANTENIMIENTO General ADVERTENCIA • Solo una organización de servicio autorizada debe realizar todas las tareas de mantenimiento. • Al realizar una reparación, utilice solo piezas de repuesto idénticas a las de fabricación. El uso de cualquier otra pieza puede crear un peligro o causar daños en el producto.
