NOTE: Your camera also accepts EYE-FI Cards, X2 or higher, with a firmware version of 4.5174 or higher. View and update firmware using the Eye-Fi Center Software that accompanies the card. CAUTION: A card can only be inserted one way; forcing it may cause damage. Inserting or removing a card while the camera is on may damage the pictures, the card, or the camera.

Installing, setting up software If software installation does not start after several minutes 1 Verify that the computer is connected to the Internet. 2 Open My Computer. 3 Open the KODAK Setup App to start the installation. If the installer still doesn’t start 1 Download it from www.kodak.com/go/camerasw. 2 After it’s downloaded, double-click to install it.
Installing, setting up software A helpful hint: adding new email addresses to your camera For future reference, the easiest way to add email addresses to your camera is using the Share Button App on your computer. 1 Turn on your camera. 2 Using the KODAK Camera USB Cable, connect the camera to a computer USB port. The Share Button App starts. 3 Click Email List Setup. 4 Add email addresses. The next time you connect the camera to the computer, the email addresses are added to your camera.

Taking pictures/videos Reviewing the picture/video just taken After you take a picture/video, the LCD briefly displays the picture or the first frame of a video. While a picture/video appears on your camera screen, you may: Play/pause a picture/video Delete the current picture/video NOTE: The camera captures audio during recording, but audio cannot be heard during playback on the camera. Audio can be heard when the video is played on a computer or when the camera is connected to a TV (see page 28).

Taking pictures/videos Using Scene (SCN) modes Choose a Scene mode—for great pictures in practically any situation. 1 Press until the LCD displays SCN, then press OK. 2 Press to view scene mode descriptions. If the mode description turns off before you finish reading it, press OK. 3 Press OK to choose a Scene mode. SCN mode For Portrait Use for full-frame photos of people and other subjects. Sport Use to reduce the effect of fast action. Sunset Use in sunset light.
Taking pictures/videos Using shortcuts For quick access to the most popular capture and review functions: 1 Press to select a shortcut such as Exposure Compensation or Self-timer. (You’ll see different functions in different modes.) NOTE: Reset Exposure Compensation to zero (0) when finished. 2 Press to change a setting. Shortcuts www.kodak.
Taking pictures/videos Using the self-timer and burst Use the self-timer when you want to be included in a picture or to ensure a steady Shutter button press. For best results, place the camera on a tripod or steady surface. You can turn on the self-timer using a shortcut (see page 16) or these steps: 1 Turn on the camera, then press 2 Press the Menu 3 Press button. Press to select Shortcuts. to choose Self-timer, then press OK. to choose a Self-timer setting: Off—Self-timer is turned off.
Taking pictures/videos Using the camera under water The camera does not float. To prevent it from sinking, secure it to your wrist with the wrist strap (provided). You can also purchase a floating wrist strap at www.kodak.com/go/accessories. Tightly close and latch all doors to keep the camera waterproof. Do not open doors in water or when hands are wet. Waterproof integrity may be compromised if the camera is dropped.
4 Sharing pictures/videos Sharing through social networks It’s never been easier to share pictures on your favorite social networking sites. IMPORTANT: To use the social networking features, you must first install and set up KODAK Software. (see page 7). 1 Press the Review button, then to find a picture. 2 Press the Share button. If it’s your first time, a Help screen appears. 3 Press to choose a social networking site, then press OK. A check mark appears. Repeat this step to choose more sites.
Sharing pictures/videos Manage email addresses and KODAK PULSE Digital Frames You can add, edit, or delete email addresses and KODAK PULSE Digital Frames on your camera. 1 Press the Share button. Marking pictures/videos for emailing It’s simple to mark pictures/videos so that they’re ready to email using KODAK Software. First, create a new email address. Using the undo delete picture feature If you accidentally delete a video/picture, you may be able to use Undo Delete to retrieve it. After you select a video/picture for deletion, another screen appears. On that screen, select Undo Delete.
Reviewing and editing Viewing pictures/videos in different ways Magnifying a picture 1 Press Telephoto (T) to magnify 2X–8X. 2 Press ■ to view other parts of a picture. Press OK to return to 1X. Viewing as thumbnails 1 Press the Review button. The camera shows the last picture/video that was taken. 2 Press the Wide Angle (W) button to view pictures/videos as thumbnails. (Press it again to see more, smaller thumbnails.) To view all pictures/videos, choose the All tab.
Reviewing and editing A smarter way to find and enjoy your pictures Tag pictures with a keyword (page 20) to make them easy to find, later. 1 Press the Review button. 2 Press the Wide Angle (W) button to view pictures by thumbnail (or choose View Thumbnails shortcut). 3 Press to choose the All, Date, Favorite, or Keyword tab. 4 Press to choose a picture or picture stack, then press OK. Press Telephoto (T) see pictures in a stack or to see an individual picture.

Reviewing and editing Creating a slide show Use Slide Show to display your pictures/videos on the LCD. You can play all pictures/videos, or choose pictures to include in the slide show. Make a slide show 1 Press the Review button. Select pictures (see page 32). If you select no pictures, all pictures are shown. 2 Press the Menu 3 Press button, then to choose the Review tab. to choose Slide Show, then press OK. 4 Press to choose Begin Show, then press OK. Each picture/video is displayed once.
Reviewing and editing Displaying pictures/videos on a television You can display pictures/videos on a television, computer monitor, or any device equipped with a video input. To connect the camera directly to a television, use an A/V cable (may be sold separately). On your TV, select the source that corresponds to the camera cable input. Making a picture from a video You can choose a single frame from a video, then make a picture suitable for a 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print. 1 Press the Review video. (The original video is saved.
Reviewing and editing Making a video action print From a video, you can make a 9-up picture, suitable for a 4 x 6-inch (10 x 15 cm) print. 1 Press the Review video. Video 9-up picture button, then to find a 2 Press the Menu button, then to choose the Edit tab. Choose Action Print, then press OK. 3 Choose an option, then press OK. A 9-up picture is created. To return to picture-taking mode, press the Review button.
Reviewing and editing Selecting multiple pictures/videos Use the multi-select feature when you have two or more pictures/videos to print, transfer, delete, etc. Multi-select is used most effectively with thumbnails, page 24. 1 Press the Review button, then (and if you’re in multi-up mode) to find a picture/video. 2 Press OK to select pictures/videos. A check mark appears on the picture. (Press OK again to remove a check mark.) You can now print, transfer, delete, etc. the selected pictures.
Reviewing and editing Using KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Technology helps ensure better, brighter pictures. 1 Press the Review button, then for previous/next picture. 2 Press the Menu button, then to highlight the Edit tab. Highlight PERFECT TOUCH Tech, then press OK. The enhancement is previewed. Press to view other parts of the picture. 3 Choose Continue or Cancel. 4 Press OK. Follow the screen prompts to replace the original picture or to save the enhanced picture as a new one.
6 Doing more with your camera Using the menu button to change settings in picture taking mode You can change settings to get the best results from your camera. NOTE: Some modes offer limited settings. Some settings remain until you change them; others, until you change modes or turn off the camera. 1 Press the Menu 2 Press button. to choose a tab: ■ Capture for the most common picture-taking settings ■ Setup for other camera settings 3 Press to choose a setting, then press OK.

Share Button Settings Fast Share—Choose Fast Share destinations. Then, when you press and hold the Share button for more then 1 second, the picture is sent to those destinations. Customize Text—Turn the ability to customize text On/Off. Default Title—Type a standard title or accept the default title: “Sharing from my camera.
Doing more with your camera Settings More information Reset Camera Reset settings to their default. Reset All Camera Settings—Settings revert to their factory defaults. Reset Startup Application—Resets camera to startup mode to allow KODAK Software download. Computer Connection Choose which application is downloaded or launched when you connect the camera to the computer. KODAK Software Other Application (APPLE iPHOTO, etc.) Format Memory Card—Deletes everything on the card; formats the card.
7 Transferring, printing pictures When you transfer pictures/videos to your computer, any that you tagged for emailing or sharing on social networking sites are emailed or shared. You can transfer in 2 ways: ■ Using the included USB cable (see below) Using an optional EYE-FI Card (see page 43) IMPORTANT: To enable the camera Share button for email and social network sharing, you must install and set up the KODAK Share Button App (see page 7). ■ 1 Turn off the camera.
Transferring, printing pictures Printing pictures Direct printing with a KODAK All-in-One Printer Your camera is compatible with PICTBRIDGE Technology, so you can print directly to PICTBRIDGE enabled Printers. You need a camera, a PICTBRIDGE enabled Printer, and a USB cable. Your camera must be set to Other Applications mode. Connecting the camera to a KODAK All-in-One Printer 1 Turn off the camera and printer. 2 Connect the USB cable from the camera to the printer.
Transferring, printing pictures Ordering prints online KODAK Gallery (www.kodakgallery.com) makes it easy to: ■ Upload your pictures. ■ Edit, enhance, and add borders to your pictures. ■ Store pictures, and share them with family and friends. ■ Have prints, photo greeting cards, frames, and albums delivered to your door. Printing from an SD or SDHC Card ■ Automatically print tagged pictures when you insert your card into a printer with an SD/SDHC Card slot. See your printer user guide for details.
8 Using an EYE-FI Card This chapter pertains only if you’re using an EYE-FI Card. An Eye-Fi Card stores pictures in the same way that an SD/SDHC Card does. It also has a built-in Wi-Fi antenna that uses your Wi-Fi network to transfer pictures from your camera to your computer or mobile device. IMPORTANT: Choose an EYE-FI X2 Card or higher, with a firmware version of 4.5174 or higher. View and update firmware using the Eye-Fi Center Software that accompanies the card.
Using an EYE-FI Card Sharing pictures using an EYE-FI Card NOTE: You can share 1 picture/video at a time, and you cannot email pictures/videos. 1 Press the Share button. 2 Press to find a picture or video. 3 Tap desired sharing destinations. (Tap again to remove a check mark. Tap the More icon to see additional sharing destinations.) 4 When finished, Tap Done.
Using an EYE-FI Card Transferring pictures using an EYE-FI Card You can transfer pictures from your camera to a computer or to a mobile device that’s running the EYE-FI App. CAUTION: If you’re using an EYE-FI Card in this camera, it’s critical that you disable (don’t turn on) Endless Memory Mode in EYE-FI Center Software. 1 On your computer, launch the EYE-FI application. 2 In picture-taking mode, press Menu. 3 Press to select EYE-FI, then press OK.
Using an EYE-FI Card Other EYE-FI Information ■ It’s critical that you disable (do not turn on) Endless Memory Mode in EYE-FI Center Software. ■ As of December 2010, EYE-FI Cards are permitted only in the countries and regions in which they were purchased. You may be held liable due to local restrictions. ■ The EYE-FI Card has a wireless LAN function. Do not insert the EYE-FI Card where wireless LAN is prohibited, such as while aboard an airplane or in a hospital.
9 Troubleshooting Camera problems Status Solution Camera does not turn on ■ Make sure the batteries are installed correctly (see page 3). Camera does not turn off ■ Make sure batteries are new. If batteries are rechargeable, make sure they are fully charged (see charger documentation). Camera buttons and controls do not function Condensation on the lens or LCD. Condensation may occur when the camera is subjected to temperature or humidity changes.
Troubleshooting Status Solution Battery life is short ■ Make sure the correct battery type is installed (see page 51). ■ Insert new/charged batteries (see page 3). ■ See Extending battery life, page 54. ■ Adjust LCD Brightness (see page 36). ■ Turn off the Eye-Fi feature when not in use (see page 41). Cannot find the desired picture/video ■ To view pictures stored on a memory card, see page 22. You cannot take a picture ■ Turn the camera off, then on again.
Troubleshooting Computer/connectivity problems Status Solution Computer does not communicate with the camera ■ Turn off the camera, then turn it back on. ■ Make sure the batteries are charged and installed correctly (see page 3). ■ Make sure the KODAK Camera USB Cable, Micro B / 5-Pin is connected to the camera and directly to the computer (not through a USB hub). See page 7. Then turn on the camera. IMPORTANT: Use only the cable included with this camera! ■ See KODAK Software Help at www.kodak.
Troubleshooting Status Solution Underwater videos are off-color. Use Underwater mode (see page 14). Appendix Care and maintenance ■ If you suspect water has gotten inside the camera, remove the batteries and card. Allow all components to air-dry for at least 24 hours before using the camera. ■ Blow gently on the lens or LCD to remove dust and dirt. Wipe gently with a soft, lint-free cloth or an untreated lens-cleaning tissue. Do not use cleaning solutions unless designed specifically for camera lenses. Do not allow chemicals, such as suntan lotion, to contact painted surfaces.
Appendix Upgrading your software and firmware Download the latest versions of KODAK Software and the camera firmware (the software that runs on the camera). Go to www.kodak.com/go/c135downloads. Storage capacities The LCD displays the approximate number of pictures (or minutes/seconds of video) remaining. For average SD Card capacities, go to www.kodak.com/go/SDcapacities. Actual storage capacity varies depending on subject composition, card size, and other factors.
Appendix ■ Do not allow batteries to touch metal objects, including coins. Otherwise, a battery may short circuit, discharge energy, become hot, or leak. ■ Do not disassemble, install backward, or expose batteries to liquid, moisture, fire, or extreme temperature. ■ Remove the batteries when the product is stored for an extended period of time. In the unlikely event that battery fluid leaks inside the product, contact Kodak customer support.
Appendix your camera in cold weather, carry spare batteries and keep them warm. Do not discard cold batteries that do not work; when they return to room temperature, they may be usable. Limited warranty Kodak warrants its digital cameras and accessories (excluding batteries) to be free from malfunctions and defects in both materials and workmanship for the warranty period specified on your KODAK Product packaging. Retain the original dated sales receipt.
