Introduction Thank you for purchasing your 2.4’’ KODAK G240 Portable Digital Photo Viewer. The Digital Photo Viewer battery stays fully charged for up to 3 hours. With your Digital Photo Viewer, you can store and display up to 50 photos. You can also mount your KODAK Portable Digital Photo Viewer on any metal surface such as your refrigerator. Please read this manual carefully first in order to get the most out of your KODAK Portable Digital Photo Viewer.

Note: You can place your Portable Digital Photo Viewer on any metal surface, such as your refrigerator or door, by attaching the Magnetic Auto Mount to the Photo Viewer (according to the text shown on Magnetic Auto Mount). You can also attach the Magnetic Auto Mount to the Photo Viewer using the 2 double sided sticker accessories (included). Peel off one side of the sticker and attach to the Magnetic Auto Mount (on the side with the text that attaches to the Photo Viewer).
Note: When the battery power runs out, your stored photos are not lost. All stored images remain on your Portable Digital Photo Viewer. Starting Your Portable Digital Photo Viewer Please make sure that your Photo Viewer has sufficient battery power in order to operate properly. POWERING ON/OFF YOUR DIGITAL PHOTO VIEWER 1. Viewing Different Photos On Your Portable Digital Photo Viewer MANUAL MODE If multiple photos are loaded on your Photo Viewer, you can press the PREV or NEXT button to view the different photos on your LCD screen. After pressing the PREV or NEXT button, the specific photo number being viewed and the total number of photos loaded to the Digital Photo Viewer appears briefly on the top right corner of the LCD screen. Your photos are displayed in a continuous loop: 1.
Starting Your Slide Show Pressing the AUTO button automatically STARTS the slide show and displays each photo with the default interval of 1 second between photos. Note: You can customize your slide show interval by setting the time in the ‘Slide Show’ option from the Main Menu. (See the ‘Exploring the Setting Options’ section for more details.
Exploring the Setting Options To change any of the settings options for your Photo Viewer, first power on your Photo Viewer, and then press the MENU button. On your LCD screen, you will see the heading “MAIN MENU”, followed by a list of settings that can be adjusted on your Photo Viewer. Use the PREV or NEXT button to scroll through the list of settings options. When the setting you wish to adjust is highlighted, press the MENU button to open that setting and make adjustments.
USB CONNECT The USB Connect feature allows you to connect to your computer and load photos to your Photo Viewer. 1. Press the Power button to turn on your Photo Viewer. 2. Press the MENU button to open the MAIN MENU and view the list of setting options. 3. Press the PREV or NEXT button to scroll and highlight the ‘USB CONNECT’ setting. 4. Press the MENU button to open the setting options and make adjustments. USB CONNECT Setting Options Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight YES or NO.

SLIDE SHOW Setting Options Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight the ON, OFF or CANCEL.
2. Press the MENU button to open the MAIN MENU and view the list of setting options. 3. Press the PREV or NEXT button to scroll and highlight the ‘AUTO SHUTDOWN’ setting. 4. Press the MENU button to open the setting and make adjustments. AUTO SHUTDOWN Setting Options Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight ON, OFF or CANCEL. If you select ON, use the PREV or NEXT button to repeatedly toggle through the amount of minutes you’d like to select.
POWER OFF Setting Options Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight YES or NO. Press the MENU button to confirm the selected setting. YES: When YES is selected, the Photo Viewer powers off. NO: When NO is selected, your Photo Viewer will not be turned off. You will return to view the photo currently displayed. BACKLIGHT The BACKLIGHT Settings allow you to adjust the strength of backlighting on your LCD screen. 1. Press the Power button to turn on your Photo Viewer. 2.
CLOCK The CLOCK setting allows you to use the set the time and date and enables the Portable Digital Photo Viewer to be used as a clock or calendar. 1. Press the Power button to turn on your Photo Viewer. 2. Press the MENU button to open the MAIN MENU and view the list of setting options. 3. Press the PREV or NEXT button to scroll and highlight the ‘CLOCK’ setting. 4. Press the MENU button to open the setting and make adjustments.
ANALOG CLOCK Setting Options: The ANALOG CLOCK Setting displays the time with an analog clock on the screen as well as the date. By pressing the MENU button, you can exit this view and go back to showing stored photos . SET CLOCK Setting Options: The SET CLOCK Setting allows you to adjust the Display Clock details so that it displays accurate time and date information. To do so, press the MENU button to toggle between the date and time options.
DELETE Setting Options Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight DELETE ONE, DELETE ALL or CANCEL. Press the MENU button to confirm the selected setting. DELETE ONE Setting Options: Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight YES or NO. Press the MENU button to confirm the selected setting. YES: When YES is selected, the last photo that has been loaded on your Photo Viewer will be deleted. NO: When NO is selected, the last photo that has been loaded on your Photo Viewer will not be deleted.
LANGUAGE SET The LANGUAGE SET setting allows you to choose the language that displays on you Portable Digital Photo Viewer Main Menu options. You can select from one of the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Dutch or Polish 1. Press the Power button to turn on your Photo Viewer. 2. Press the MENU button to open the MAIN MENU and view the list of setting options. 3. Press the PREV or NEXT button to scroll and highlight the ‘LANGUAGE SET’ setting. 4.
Loading Photos from your PC to your Portable Digital Photo Viewer To load photos from your PC to your Portable Digital Photo Viewer you need to connect the USB cable to the USB slot on the device to an available USB port on your computer. 1. Connect your Digital Photo Viewer to the computer. If it is off, it will automatically power on. 2. The USB CONNECT menu will open with 2 choices – YES or NO. 3. Press the PREV or NEXT button to highlight and select the YES option from the menu. 4.
8. Check the box next to the “Always do this for software and games” and then click the “Run DPKMate.exe” option to open the Kodak Digital Photo Keychain Photo Uploader application. 9. If you do not check the box next to the “Always do this for software and games” then this AutoPlay window will appear each time you plug your device into the computer. 10. If you are running the latest version of WINDOWS you will not see a message to restart your computer.
Note: The amount of images on the Digital Photo Viewer and the amount of images that can still be uploaded to the DPF appear beneath the image thumbnails on the right hand column. SELECTING AN IMAGE 1. On plugging in the Digital Photo Viewer the top left corner window will open showing 3 folders on your computer including the My Pictures folder.
2. Click the My Pictures folder for all the files and folders that appear on your computer in the My Pictures folder to appear in the window to the right of the folder directory window. 3. If your pictures are located elsewhere, browse the directory window on the left until you find the folder with the photos you wish to transfer. 4. Click on the image file you wish to upload. 5. The image selected appears in the Preview Image window below on the left side of the application.
PREPARING THE IMAGE FOR UPLOADING Once you have selected the image you can edit it before uploading. Resize the Image If you wish to resize the image: 1. Click the “+” button to enlarge the image in the Preview window. 2. Click the “-“ button to decrease the size of the image.
3. Click the “Clear” button to resize so that the whole image can be uploaded to fit in the screen of the Digital Photo Viewer. 4. Click this same button that now appears as “Rect” to revert to the previous enlarged image. Rotate and Resize the Image 1. Click the “RotateL” (Left) button to rotate the original image to the left. 2. Click the “RotateR” (Right) button to rotate the original image to the right. 3. Click the “+” or “-“ buttons to increase or reduce the size of the rotated image.
Crop and Add the Image to be Uploaded 1. Click on the 1.5” crop square that appears over the image in the Preview window. 2. Drag the square with your mouse to move and position it over that part of the image that you wish to crop and upload to the Digital Photo Viewer. 3. Click the “Add” button to add the selected part of the image to the right hand column ready to be uploaded. 4. Select another image and repeat these steps to add more than one image before uploading.
Set Text and Background Color You can change the Text and Background colors that appear on the Digital Photo Viewer. 1. Click the “Setting” button to open the Setting tool. 2. Click the “Fontcolor” button to choose a color from the Color palette that appears and click “OK” to save the color and close the color palette. 3. Click the “Background” button to choose a color from the Color palette that appears and click “OK” to save the color and close the color palette. 4.
Upload the New Images Once you have selected and cropped all the images you wish to upload from the PC, you now need to upload them so that they are transferred to the Portable Digital Photo Viewer. 1. Click the “Synchronize” button. 2. All the new images added to the right hand column will now be uploaded to the Digital Photo Viewer that is connected to the PC. 3. The upload progress bar appears indicating the progress of the upload.
Save the Images The Kodak Digital Photo Keychain Photo Uploader tool allows you to save the images that appear on the Digital Photo Viewer to any compatible computer wherever you are. 1. Connect the Digital Photo Viewer to the computer and enter the USB CONNECT mode. 2. The images on the Digital Photo Viewer appear in the right hand column. 3. To save one image, click and select the image you wish to save to the computer. 4. Click the “Save” button to save the image to the computer. 5.
6. To save all the images, click the “Save All” or the “All” button and then the “Save” button. 7. A Kodak Digital Photo Keychain Photo Uploader Windows message appears asking you how you wish to save your images. 8. Click the Yes button to save the images as BMP files or the No button to save as JPG files. Click Cancel to exit without saving. 9. The “Browse for Folder” window appears to browse for the folder to save the images and click “OK”. 10. All the images will be saved to the selected folder.
7. The Kodak Digital Photo Keychain Photo Uploader delete confirmation windows message will appear. 8. To delete all the images on your Digital Photo Viewer, click the “All” button to select all the images. 9. Click the “Delete” button to delete the all the selected images. 10. The Kodak Digital Photo Keychain Photo Uploader delete confirmation windows message will appear. 11. Click “Yes” to delete all the images or “No” to close without deleting. Exit 1.
Loading Photos from your MAC to your Portable Digital Photo Viewer To transfer images from your MAC to your Portable Digital Photo Viewer you need to connect the USB cable to the USB slot on the device to an available USB port on your computer. 1. Connect your Digital Photo Viewer to the computer. If it is off, it will automatically power on. 2. The USB CONNECT menu will open with 2 choices – YES or NO. 3. Press the NEXT or PREVIOUS button to highlight and select the YES option from the menu. 4.
4. The Downloads window will open. 5. Click on the MacDPKmate file to install the application on your computer.
6. After installation the MacDPKMate application opens on your computer. Note: Once you have installed the application on your computer, the next time you plug the device into your MAC the ‘Kodak’ application icon will appear. Click on the MacDPKMate icon for the application to open. USING THE MACDPKMATE SOFTWARE TOOL The MacDPKmate software tool allows you to: 1. Upload new images to your Digital Photo Viewer. 2. Preview the images already uploaded. 3. View how many images are on the device. 4.
Selecting an Image 1. On plugging in the DPK the bottom left corner window will open with all the files and folders that appear on your computer. 2. Select the photo or browse the directory window on the left until you find the folder with the photos you wish to transfer. 3. Click on the image file you wish to transfer. 4. The selected image appears in the Preview Image window above. Note: If the format of the photo file is not compatible, no picture will appear in the preview screen.
Preparing the Image for Transferring 1. Edit the selected image before transferring it by using the Rotate, Scale, Translate X and Y features. 2. Select the “Fit Size for LCD” option for the application to automatically resize your picture so that it will fit onto the LCD for the device. Adding, Deleting and Transferring your Photos 1. Click the “Add” button to add the selected photo to the device’s Picture List window on the right. Note: The photo is converted and saved to the device as a BMP file.
Maintenance of Your Portable Digital Photo Viewer The KODAK Portable Digital Photo Viewer is a delicate device. Please handle it with care to avoid damaging it. Troubleshooting Q: I am pressing the Power button but the Digital Photo Viewer does not power on. A: The Built-in Lithium Battery probably needs recharging. Connect one end of the USB cable that came in the package to the USB slot at the base of the Digital Photo Viewer and connect the other end to an available USB port on your computer. Your computer needs to be on. The Digital Photo Viewer will turn on and the USB CONNECT menu will appear.
