The number appears both on the carton and on the cartridge. NOTICE The Duplex paper (black on one side, red o n the other,) now used in Kodak cartri dges is superi or to black pa per, in that it has no deleterious effect upon the keeping qua lities of the film, a nd abso lutely does a way with number markings.

PART I. LOADING THE CAMERA. The film for the Flexo Kodak is furnished in light-proof rolls and th e instrument ca n therefore be loaded in day light. The operation should, howeve r, be performed in a subdued light, not in th e glare of bright sunlight. THE FILM . No. 101. TO LOAD. 1. When the smallest stop is in the lens the light admitted is so much redu ced th at t ime ex posures ou t of doors may be made the same as interi o rs but th e exposure must be much shorter. WITH S UNSHI E-The shutter ca n hardly be opened and closed q uickly enough to avo id over exposure. WITH LIGHT CLO UDs-From Yz to I second wi ll be sufficient. PART IV. CJJEVELOPING. There is no necessity of worki ng in a dark-room or waiting until ni gh t to develop film. It can be done in daylight at a ny time and place. And th e day light methods of developi ng film give better res ults than t he dark-room way. Film m ay be de velop d in day light by th e Kodak Film Tank meth d. Detailed directions for deve loping will be founel in the manua l which accompanies the goods. The operations are given briefly in th e foll o wing pages.

Pass the fi lm face down ( the face in th e d ull side ) thro ugh th e fixing solutio n, holding o ne e nd in each hand. Do this three or four times and then place one end of th e film in the tray still face dow n a nd lower th e strip into th e solution in fo lds. ( If the negatives have been cut a part immerse them si ngly.
