In
making
stereoscopic prints, the
aim
is
to
convey
the
id
ea
of perspective
and
to
depict
animated
life.
This
can be easi
ly
accomplished
by
following
the
instructions closely
and
by
using
a little
care
in
the
matt
er of
trimming
an
d
tran
spos
ing
th
e neg-
atives.
The
operation
of
puttin
g
the
Solio
paper
and
the film face
to face in printing, plac
es
th
e right
hand
print
on
the
left
hand
side,
and
vice
ve1'sa.
To
ove
rcome thi
s,
trim
and

spose
the

before
printing in the following ma
nner:
Lay
the
cutting
guide, which accompani

on
the face
of
the
right
hand
negative
so
as
to

eave
small

arg
in for trim-
ming
on
the
ri
gh
t
hand
edge
.
Note
some
well-defined
object
in
th
e
middle
distance
which is intersected
by
the inner
straight
edge

Now

ansfer
guide
to left-ha
nd
neg
ative
so
th
at line
AA
intersects
sam
e
object
at
same
point.
If
margins of n
ega
-
tive r
ema
in
on
both
left a
nd
right sides of guide-mask,
cut
off
margin
on
left.
Now
place guide
on
rig
ht
hand
n
ega
tive
once
mor
e at identically
the
same
spot
as before
and
cut
off
margin
from
right
hand
end.
It
must
be
re
memb
ered
that
centers
which you
work
from
must
be
at
such
point
as will allow slight
trim
at
eac
h
side
of
ma
sk.
If
first
point
tried
does
not
give this
result,
try
another.
There
is
a common center. K
eep
mask
par
a
ll
el with
bottom
of film to
insur
e vertical lin
es
when
cut-
ting.
After
the
outer
edges
of n
ega
tiv
es
hav
e b
ee
n
trimm
ed
,
cut
the n
ega
tives
apart
at intersection
and
transpose.
In
transpos
-
ing,
bring
the
trimmed
edges
of
both
n
ega
tives together,
both
face
up
. Now, with
gummed
slips, pas
te
the
n
ega
tives face
up
to
the
glass of printing frame.
On
th
ese
lay a piece of Solio
paper,
face down.
