Chapter 1 Overview Intended Use The intended use for this module is to convert batches from Kofax Capture Import Connector - Email to a structure which can be processed by INDICIUS modules. Operating Modes This module can be run as a dedicated application or via Kofax Capture Batch Manager. Running as a Dedicated Application When run in this mode, the module polls for batches and processes them as they become available. The following information is displayed: Total number of batches processed.
Chapter 1 Running via Kofax Capture Batch Manager When run via Batch Manager, the module processes the selected batch. The following information is displayed: Time elapsed since the module was started. When run in this mode, the module will process the selected batch and then close.
Chapter 2 Configuring the Module Configuring the module in Kofax Capture Administration Module Setup Prior to running this module, the required output format must be selected. This is done via Kofax Capture Batch Manager by selecting the module from the context menu of the batch, as shown in Figure 2-1 below: Figure 2-1.
Chapter 2 The INDICIUS Email Batch Converter configuration dialog will then be displayed, with two possible output options, as shown at Figure 2-2 below. Figure 2-2. Batch Converter Setup Dialog Create a Separate One-Page Document from the Email Body This option includes the body of the email as the first document within the folder. All other attachments are represented as distinct documents within the same folder. (See Figure 4-5 for an example.
Chapter 3 Running the Application Operation All INDICIUS email functionality assumes that the Kofax Capture Import Connector Email is used to import emails into Kofax Capture batches and that the INDICIUS Email Batch Converter is used after import to convert to the required structure. Application Behavior When the INDICIUS Email Batch Converter is run, it waits for a batch to become available. As soon as one does, it is processed through the application.
Chapter 3 User Interface A screen shot of the main user interface is shown in Figure 3-3 below: Figure 3-3.
Running the Application Supported File Types The INDICIUS Batch Converter will import documents of all types. However, only image and PDF documents will be split into single pages for use by INDICIUS. Files of other types will be imported as single page documents, independent of the number of pages/length of the document. Image Files Image files of the following formats can be processed: JPEG - JPEG Compression, usual extension .jpg TIFF - CCITT Group 3, usual extension .
Chapter 3 In this situation, the message ‘Error splitting: ’ will be output and the batch will be aborted and sent to Quality Control. Note There are some limitations when processing encrypted PDF files in INDICIUS. Refer to the INDICIUS Help for further information. Email Bodies and Text Files Email bodies and text files are not split into multiple pages. For further information about the processing of these files in INDICIUS refer to the INDICIUS Help.
Chapter 4 Module Output Batch Converter Output The primary output of the Batch Converter is the restructured batches. In addition, the names of the original files are stored in a custom storage string. Batch Restructuring State of the Batch before Conversion Emails are imported into a Kofax Capture batch by Kofax Capture Import Connector – Email. Each email becomes one Kofax Capture document.

Include email body as the first page in each document Attachments An email containing consecutive attachments with the same name and extension will have those attachments combined into one document. An email containing attachments with the same name, but of differing extensions will be processed correctly.
Module Output Original Filename Data The original filename is stored in a Kofax Capture custom storage string called: Kofax.INDICIUSEmailBatchConverter.
