Warnings Tab
The Warnings tab lists exception conditions associated with image quality. For each
condition, you may set a Threshold value. This threshold value defines the “margin of
error” that VRS tolerates for brightness or contrast. VRS intercepts any image with
values that fall outside the margin of error, and then handles the image according to
the response selected from the Action column. For details on selecting an action type,
see the Action Options section on page 25.
Note If your scanning application is set to color mode and you are using VRS with a
Böwe Bell + Howell Spectrum II series scanner, an additional Color Confidence Out of
Range warning will appear on the Warnings tab. For more information, refer to
Advanced Color Processing on page 93.

Warning Cause
Brightness Out of Range Brightness value for the image falls outside the
acceptable range.
Contrast Out of Range Contrast value for the image falls outside the acceptable
range.
