3. Health Hazards
Overview: This product contains flux-calcined diatomaceous earth. Diatomaceous earth is an amorphous form of silica, though as a result
of the flux calcining process, it may include crystalline quartz and cristobalite. Silica mainly poses a health hazard when excessive
quantities of airborne particles are inhaled over long periods of time. Its presence in this aqueous suspension should pose no significant
health risk under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.
Routes of entry: Skin: Yes Eyes: Yes Inhalation: No Ingestion: Unlikely
Acute: Eye irritant. May cause skin irritation upon prolonged contact. May cause gastrointestinal irritation if swallowed.
Chronic: None known for this product, though excessive exposure to airborne crystalline silica dust can cause silicosis and cancer.
Carcinogenicity: NTP: Yes IARC Monographs: Yes OSHA: No
