Installation Guide

Preparation (cont.)
minimum 2 (51 mm) distance from the water stream to the sink
rim edge
minimum 1/4 (6 mm) distance between the faucet spout and the
sink rim
Redraw the faucet centerline as needed to meet these
requirements.
Draw a line on the cut-out template a minimum of 2 (51 mm)
behind the final faucet centerline. This is the minimum
backsplash locator line.
NOTE: Some KOHLER faucets require a minimum of 2-1/2 (64
mm) behind the final faucet centerline.
Cut out the template along the inside of the template cut-out line
labeled Drop-In Installation.
Position the template on the countertop to ensure clearance
between the sink, faucet, and backsplash.
Verify cabinet clearance beneath the countertop.
Use a pencil to trace the template on the countertop.
Check the clearance between the sink, faucet, backsplash, and
cabinet. Adjust the traced cut-out line accordingly.
Mark the faucet and handle centerline on the countertop.
Above-Counter or Vessel Installation
Cut out the template along the inside of the template cut-out line
labeled Above-Counter Installation or Vessel Installation for
your installation type.
Position the template on the countertop.
For Wall-Mount Faucet: Provide sufficient spout overhang into
the sink. The faucet spout length must be at least 5 (127 mm) for
proper performance.
For Countertop Faucet: Pay special attention to the spout and
handle fit clearance when locating the faucet. Use the template to
locate the faucet spout hole centerline on the countertop. This
centerline is recommended to provide adequate clearance
between the edge of the sink and the spout.
