2. Prepare the Tile Tray
Select materials so that the total thickness of the tile, cement
board, and plywood backer equals the inside depth of the tile
tray, 1-1/8″ (29 mm).
Measure the length and width of your tile tray. Cut the plywood
backer and cement board to 1/2″ (13 mm) less than each of these
measurements.
Center the plywood backer in the tile tray. Secure the plywood
backer from behind (the side with studs) with the eight provided
screws through the holes.
Install the cement board to the plywood with construction
adhesive. Screws (not provided) may be used in addition to the
construction adhesive.
Tile onto the surface of the cement board.
