Playing on the keyboard
6. BASIC OPERATIONS
PLAYING ON THE KEYBOARD
Justplay on the keyboard. You will hear the Realtime
tracks playing. There are four Realtime tracks: Upper
1–3andLower.Theymayplayallatthesametime,or
justoneorafewofthem,dependingontheirMutesta‐
tus.Ifyo
ucannothearatrack,checkthemutestatusof
thatpart.
Tr
acks can be set in different ways: use  the  KEY‐
BOARD
MODEsectiontoselectthewaytheyarecon‐
figuredon
thekeyboard.
•Press FULL UPPE
R to play the Upper 1–3 tracks
on the
 full range of the keyboard, just as you
wouldonapiano.
•PressSP
LITtolettheUpper1–3tracksplayonthe
rightoftheSplitPo
int,andtheLowertrackonthe
left.
•KeeptheSPLITPOINTbuttonpressed,andplaya
note to chan
ge the point where the keyboard is
dividedinanUpperandaLowerpart.
Tosavetheselectedspli
tpointnote,presstheGLOBAL
button, then press WRITE to savetheGlobalinmem‐
ory(see“TheWritewindow”onpage 125).
SELECTING, MUTING/UNMUTING AND
SOLOING A TRACK
Selecting. UsetheVOLUME/VALUE(A–H)buttonsto
selectatrack.
The selected track is shown with a solid square
 sur‐
roundingitsstatusicons.
Ifyoucan’tseethetracktha
tyou’r
elookingfor,usethe
TRACK SELECT button to scroll up or down the
tracks,andfindthehiddenones.
Mute/unmute. Press both VOLUME/VALUE (A–H)
buttonstomuteorunmu
teatrack.Forexample,ifyou
are on the main page that appears after turning the
instrument on, and you want to mute the Upper 1
track,presstheE(UPPER1/ACC2)buttonstogether.

Solo. While in the Style Play, Song Play and Song
modes, you can solo one of the tracks. Just keep the
SH
IFT button pressed, and press both VOLUME/
VALUEbuttonscorrespondingtothetrackyouwishto
solo.
