Tappets
1.
Remove
the
six
tappets
(1)
from the crankcase.
(When reassembling)
• Visually check the contact between tappets and cams
for
proper rotation. If a defect
is
found, replace tappets.
• Before installing the tappets, apply engine oil
thinly
around
them.

Valves
1.
Remove
the valve
caps.
2.
Remove
the valve spring collet, pushing
the
valve spring
retainer by valve spring replacer.
3.
Remove
the valve spring retainer, valve spring and valve
stem
seal.
4.
Remove
the valve.

IMPORTANT
•
Don't
change the combination
of
valve and valve guide.

Service Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT
•
Use
a plus (phillips head) screw driver
that
has
a Dia. which
is
bigger than the heat seal hole (approx. 6 mm) 1/4 in.
1.
Drive screw driver lightly
into
the heat
seal
hole.
2.
Turn screw driver three
or
four
times
each
way.
3.
While turning the screw driver, slowly pull the heat
seal
out
together
with
the copper gasket.
If
the heat
seal
drops, repeat the above procedure. Heat
seal
and copper gasket must be changed
when
the
injection
nozzle
is
removed
for
cleaning or
for
service.
