Installing the Range top
Remove
the
range top
from i ts
package
and set
aside all
burners,burner caps
and grates.
Gently slide in
the cook top in to the cut-out,
make
sure your cut-outs are
there for t he
gas
connection and
electrical
hookup
(if
you choose to us e it ).
Once this i s done
you’re
now
ready
to
slide
the
range top all
the
way
back
to
the wall.
Install all
burners and burner caps
Install all
grates.
Connecting g as to range top
This
range top
is
designed
to operate at a
pressure
of 4”of
water
column on
natural
gas
or 10”of
water
column on propane
gas
(LPG).
Make
sure you are
supplying
your
range top
with the
type
of
gas
for
which
it is
designed.
It’s shipped
for
use with NG. This range top is
convertible
for use on
natural gas
(LPG)
also.
When
using
this
range top
on LPG
gas,conver sion
must be
made by a
qualif ied
LPG
installer
before
attem pting
tooperatetherangetoponthat gas.
For correct
opera tion,
the
pressure
of
natural gas supplied
to the
regulator
should be
between
4”and 5” of
water column.
For LP
gas,
the
pressure supplied
must be
between
10”and 12”of
water
column.
When
checki ng
for correct operation of the
regula tor,
the
inle t pressure
must beat
least
1”more than the
opera ting manifo ld pr essure
as
given
above.
The
pressure regulator located
at the
inle t
of the
ran ge top m ani fold
must
remain
in
the
supply line regardles s
of whether Natural(NG)or Propane
(LP)g as
is being
used.
A
flexibl e metal appliance
connect or used t o connect the
range top
to the
gas
supply should be 3 feet/ 91.4 cm
max.
in length for
easy installation.
In
Canada,
flexible connectors should be
single wall metal
connectors
less
than 6
feet/182.9 cm in l ength.
Shut off the main
gas supply valve
before
removing
the old
cooking a pplianc e
(if
applicable)
and
leave
it of fun til the new hook-up has been
completed.
Don’t forget
to
relight
the pilots on other
gas appliances
when you turn the
gas
back on.
Because
hard
piping res tricts
movement of t he
ra nge top,
the use of a
CSA
certified
flexible metal appliance
connector is
recommended unless local
codes
require
a hard-
