KUNBUS GmbH - Downstream User
As the leading specialist of industrial communication products, KUNBUS GmbH faces the
challenge of keeping the environmental impact of its products as low as possible over the whole
lifecycle, from manufacture to disposal.
KUNBUS GmbH communicates with all suppliers to guarantee REACH compliance and ensure the
quality of purchased parts. If necessary, safety data sheets are requested and then passed to the
manufacturing centers so that on-site health and safety measures can be optimized.
KUNBUS GmbH exclusively produces and supplies non-chemical products (goods). No substance
will be released from these goods under any normal or reasonably foreseeable application
conditions. In terms of REACH, KUNBUS GmbH is primarily a downstream user.
KUNBUS GmbH - Communication with the supply chain
We regularly check the candidate list of the Chemicals Agency ECHA, so that we can send our
customers the prescribed information, if necessary when the relevant data is available from the
supply chain. As far we are aware, some of our products do currently contain lead above 0.1
mass %.
Pursuant to Article 33 of the REACH Regulation the manufacturer has to provide information to
their customers, if our articles include substances in a concentration above 0.1 % weight by weight.
With the update from June 2018 lead was among other substances entered in the SVHC list. Lead
is contained in our products and exceeds the limit of 0.1 mass %. This happens not intentionally
but currently due to technical reasons and without the option of substitution. We are monitoring
this situation carefully and are working continuously on avoid parts with substances in the list for
future products. We can conclude that there are no threats to the health to fear, if the products are
used according to specification and intended user scenarios.
