The Split and Layer Functions
e Split and Layer soft buttons perform slightly dierent functions, but oer identical
parameters.
e Split Function allows you to quickly create a Multi such that keys in one region of the
keyboard produce dierent sounds than another region.
e Layer Function allows you to layer Programs and Multis such that more than one sound
can be produced by striking one key.
is is convenient, as you do not need to use Multi Edit Mode to congure Zone key ranges,
Programs, and volumes. You can simply press the Split or Layer soft button while in Program
Mode to select the Function. You can then congure additional Zones, each of which may
have its own Program and controller assignments. e result may be saved as a new Multi
(see Chapter 10, for more information on Multis).
