Afteryou’veselectedacontinuousphysicalcontroller,youcanmodifythecontroller’sresponse
similarlytothewaysyoucanmodifyvelocityresponse.Refertothegraphsbeginningon
page 7‐29forillustrationsofthevelocityscalingparameters.
Scaleletsyouamplifyordiminishtheactionofthecontroller.Fullscaleis
100%.Highervalues
willmakethecontrollermoresensitive,andlowervalueswillmakeitlessso.Settingthescaleto
anegativenumbermakesthecontrolleractionworkinreverse.Aswithvelocity,youcanusea
controllertocrossfadebetweentwozonesbysettingthescalingforone
zonepositiveandthe
othernegative.Maximumscalevaluesare+300%and‐300%.
Curve
Thisletsyoutaperthecontrollerresponse.ThedefaultsettingisLinear,whichmeansthatthe
responsefollowsastraightlineasyoumovethecontroller.
SettingCurvtoExpandproducesacurvethatislesssteep
thanthelinearcurveatkeystrike
velocitiesbelow64,andsteeperthanthelinearcurveatkeystrikevelocitiesabove64.Inother
words,whenyou’ replayingsoftly,you’llnoticevelocitydifferenceslessthanwithalinear
curve,whilewhenyou’replayinghard,you’llnoticevelocitydifferencesmore.
SettingCurvtoCompress
producesavelocitycurvethatistheoppositeoftheexpanded
curve—thatis,you’llnoticevelocitydifferencesmorewhenyou’replayingsoftlythanwhen
you’ replayinghard.
Youcanalsocreate“reverse”versionsofthethreedescribedcurves.First,selectyourdesired
curve.ThensettheScaleparameterto‐100%,
andsettheOffsetparameterto127.Thismakes
theselectedcontrollersendavalueof127whenallthe waydownandavalueof0whenallthe
wayup.

Offset
Thisaddsorsubtractsaconstanttothecontroller,andatthesametimesetsminimumor
maximumvalues(there’snoneedforseparateMaxandMinparameters).IfOffsetis25,the
minimumvalueofthecontrollerwillbe25.Ifitis‐25(and
scaleis100%)thefirstone‐fifthofthe
controller’smovement(25/127Ý1/5)willsendvalueof0,andthemaximumvalueofthe
controllerwillbe102(=127‐25).Aswithvelocity,Scaleisaproportionalchangetothecontroller,
whileOffsetisalinearchange.The
valuesforOffsetrangefrom‐128to127.
DestType
ThisfielddetermineswhichtypeofcontroldestinationswillbelistedintheDestfield(see
below.)ChooseParamifyouwouldliketocontroloneoftheparametersfortheprogramonthe
currentsetupzone,suchaparameterfor
aneffectintheprogram’seffectschain,oraparameter
forasynthfunctionsuchasafilterorLFOusedbytheprogram.Theparameterslisteddepend
onwhatparametersexistforthecurrentzone’sprogramandeffectschain(seeDestbelowfor
detailsonavailableparameters.)ChooseCtrlif
youwouldliketocontrolaMIDIcontinuous
controllernumber(whenParamisselected,eachparametersendsaMIDICCvalueaswell,see
thenoteunderDest,below,fordetails.)Bydefault,MIDIcontinuouscontrollervaluesaresent
internallytotheprogramonthecontroller’szone,aswellas
totheUSBandMIDIoutports.To
