KeysmeansthattheArpeggiatorplaysonlywhileyouareholdingoneormorekeysdown(or
notetriggerson).Asyouplaydifferentnotes,theygetaddedtotheArpeggiator,andasyou
releasenotes,theygettakenout.IfyouplaynotesfasterthantheArpeggiatorscurrenttempo,
each
subsequentnotewillbeaddedtothearpeggiationatthenextdivisionofabeat.Thiscan
causealagbetweenthetimeyouplaythenoteandtheti meyouhearitinthearpeggiation.
Inthenextthreemodes,theArpeggiatorlatchesnotesonlywhenMIDIController157(Latch)
sendsavalueofOn(64orhigher).Aneasywaytoexperimentwiththesemodesistoassignthe
ModWheeltosendMIDI157.
InOverplaymode,theArpeggiatorlatchesanynotesthatarebeingheldwhenLatchturnson,
andcontinuesplayingthem,evenafteryouletthem
go,untilLatchturnsoff.Anynotesthatyou
playafterLatchisalreadyondonotgetarpeggiated,evenifthey’reinthearpeggiationrange.
Arpegissimila r:any notesheldwhenLatchgoesonarelatchedandarpeggiated,andkeep
goinguntilLatchgoesoff.Anynotesyouplay
outsidethearpeggiationrangeplaynormally.
Notesthatyouplayinsidethearpeggiationrangedonotplaynormally;rather,ifyouholdthem
on,theybecomepartofthearpeggiation.Theydropoutofthearpeggiationassoonasyou
releasethem.
LikeOverplayandArpeggiation,Addmeansthatallnotes
beingheldwhenLatchgoesonget
latched,andkeepplayinguntilLatchgoesoff(evenifyou’vereleasedthenotes).Anynotesyou
playafterLatchisalreadyonalsogetlatched.
AutoisindependentofLatch;everynoteyouplayisautomaticallylatched,andtheArpeggiator
runsaslong
asyouholdatleastonearpeggiatednote.Aslongasyoukeepholdingonatleast
onenote(itdoesn’thavetobethesamenotethewholetime),everynoteyouplayinthe
arpeggiationrangegetslatched.
PedalsissortofacombinationofKeys,Add,andOverplay
modes.ItreliesonbothLatch(MIDI
157)andLatch2(MIDI158).Ifneitherlatchcontrollerison,noteswillarpeggiateonlywhileyou
areholdingdownkeys(similartoKeysmode).IfyouactivateController158,thekeyscurrently
helddownwilllatch,andanyadditionalkeysplayedwhile
Controller158isonwillalsolatch
(similartoAddmode).WhenController158isoff,anykeysthatarenotcurrentlyhelddown
willberemovedfromthearpeggiation.IfyouactivateController157,keyscurrentlyhelddown
willlatch,andanyadditionalkeysplayedwhileController157ison
willplaynormally(similar
toOverplaymode).ThismodeiscalledPedalsmodebecauseyoumightwanttoassign
Footswitch1toLatch(Controller157)andFootswitch2toLatch2(Controller158)tomakethe
pedalsfunctionsimilarlytosustainandsostenutopedals.Additionally,youcouldassignone
Footswitchto
SusLatch(Controller160)—doingthismakestheFootswitchactasasustainpedal
whenArpisoff,andasaLatchpedalwhenArpison.
AutoholdissimilartoAuto.Holdingatleastonearpeggiatednoteonandplayingothernotes
latchesthosenotes.UnlikeinAutomode,ifyoustop
holdingatleastonearpeggiatednoteon,
thearpeggiationcontinuesplaying(althoughyoucan’tlatchanymorenotes).Inthiscase,ifyou
strikeanotherkeywithinthesetup’sarpeggiationrange,youstartanewarpeggiationsequence.
Autoholdisusefulforarpeggiatingchords:whenyouplayachord,itgetslatched,
and
continuesarpeggiatingafteryoureleasethechord.Whenyouplayanotherchord,theprevious
chordgetsunlatched,andthenewonegetslatched.Youcan usethePanicsoftbuttontostop
arpeggiationatanytime.
